February Order: "60-90 days out from VIN assignment"

Called Tesla, again. Seems you can get different answers depending on whom you talk to. This time, she at least told me, given my February 6 order, that I'm likely about 60-90 days out from receiving my VIN. Which is well past the Feb-Apr delivery date that it had originally given me when placing the order. Sorry to dash any hopes for many of us still waiting. Seems to line up with the "hold" that some are talking about? My birthday is 4-20 (yep), but I'm not going to hold my breath about getting this in time.

Question is: if I changed my delivery location from Austin to Southern California, do y'all think I'd have a chance at taking delivery any sooner? Seems counter intuitive since they're made in TX, but also seems like orders are coming to CA faster than TX, right? I have addresses in both locations.

Delivery center people know zip. This person is likely just setting low expectations, which is fine.

We are averaging roughly 90 days or so from order to VIN, depending on state of course. I would not expect a VIN until around May 6, however CA may be way quicker than that. TX, maybe even quicker.

That said, no one can say really. Tesla could very well start blasting CTs out to the Northeast(pleaseeee Tesla) and stop prioritizing CA and TX.

I placed my order on 1/21 and radio silent since then. You’re right, depends on who you ask, you get different dates. My original reservation was day 2 back in 2019. What sucks is I know they’ve delivered close to 40 trucks out of the same location I’m supposed to get my delivery. Very disappointing. Waiting for delivery in Missouri.
