Unfortunately Lawrenceville SC just called me and said my truck got pushed back from arrival tonight at their store to now arrival Thursday eve. They moved my pick up to Friday. This sucks because 1- I was literally driving to sell my jeep when they called me with this news. 2- I had a tentative tint appointment for thurs and 3- I was planning on leaving on a weekend trip thurs night.

It could go either way for you. Maybe they could only fit 2 on the truck and not 3 or maybe they are all delayed to Friday. They guy said they are having delays unloading the train cars at the yard. But I’m a little frustrated that it’s in NJ and they pushed me back 3 days.

I had 2 errands today, DMV and Cherry Hill SC. Got good news and bad.
The kinda bad news is that the NJ MVC said that I can not transfer my plates from my SUV to the CT, since they are not in the same class. I will need to submit a new vanity plate request once I had taken delivery of my CT and the registration is assigned to me. But my plates wont be available since I have them on my SUV. So I would have to surrender them and THEN request the new plates.
How f'ed up is that. I have to turn in my current plates so I can order and get the exact same plates I currently have. They will look exactly the same.. NJ is messed up..
The good news is that the SC said my CT was in an Albany NY railyard (not Chicago), and waiting for rail shipment to the northern NJ railyard, and then carrier shipment to the Cherry Hill SC on the 11th. The SC said delivery could possibly happen on Friday or Monday. Fingers crossed.
Time to get my funding (cert check) ready..

Should we plan for a rain date on that Sunday (Cinco de Mayo) ? lol

I would also speculate that it’s possible the train routes from Texas to Chicago to Albany to Northern New Jersey, I can’t imagine there are different train routes to get to New Jersey from Austin. Hopefully your delivery goes smoothly. This additional three days is just the final frustration for me in a long 4 1/2 years.

My own personal issue with the rain date is I have to go pick up my daughters stuff from her college Sunday the fifth.

As far as Plate saga, Im afraid you will probably have the same issue.
SUV and/or Jeep is listed as a passenger vehicle (FHWA #2).
The list says pickups are class #3, so no direct plate transfer.
When I get my CT, I might just try it anyway and see what NJMVC says or does..

As far as Plate saga, Im afraid you will probably have the same issue.
SUV and/or Jeep is listed as a passenger vehicle (FHWA #2).
The list says pickups are class #3, so no direct plate transfer.
When I get my CT, I might just try it anyway and see what NJMVC says or does..

yeah I’m gonna play dumb and try it. I already know you can not transfer a vanity plate in person at the Mvc location. It must be done via mail. So I’m gonna mail the packet and try.

SUV's (inc Jeep) might have the same classification as a non-commercial pickup.

Luckily we are getting delivered before 7/1.... starting 7/1/24, you will need to pay an additional $1,060 to the MVC due to the governor's new law on "road usage fee" (good for 4 years' of registration period) for all EVs. And, by next year, NJ will begin to phase out the current 0% sales tax on all EVs (no plan on the incremental % yet). However, the "Charge up NJ" grand ($4,000 state rebate) will be expanded and try to cover a longer period of time during the state's fiscal year; last year, the fund ran from 7/1/23 - Mid November 2013, and capping eligible EVs with sticker price listed under $55k.

What a double blows to all EV lovers... and BTW, only 1.8% (yep, less than 2%) of all vehicles running in NJ are EVs. Ain't you glad you get that few hundred $$ of stupid ANCHOR rebate last 2 years?

NJ CT spotted in Vermont on the way to Eclipse - on Monday 4/8

We were at a way overcrowded Supercharger - spoke briefly with driver (owner was in passenger seat working) - unfortunately he looked fatigued at all the questions he was getting.

Mounted Starlink on his truck - looks simple.

BTW - CT shows up as a "regular pickup" on the Model Y screen LOL (see pic below)

Dam Elon, you can’t even give special attention/coding for new baby, ie. CT.
I doubt HE thinks the CT is just some random pickup. Show some love.

Side note:
Cherry Hill SC said that they had already delivered about 7-8 CT’s already. So the roughly 10-1 non-member to member ratio appears to be holding up. I think I might be #10. Maybe Monday. Still waiting on my call.
