So my FS was flooded ...about 36 in salt water at peak surge. State Farm is reluctant to total it. Adjuster in a week.

If this happened to you would you get another CT? Don't have time to keep up with all the news but non foundation is now a available? What's the s difference?

Maybe talk to Tesla to get FSD? Peel some bits from my FS before they tow it away?

I'd get another one in a heart beat. No question.

Looks like you can build a non foundation to the exact same specs as a foundation just a few thousand cheaper.

Not that this would help with days of a truck soaking in salt water, but wasn't Tesla going to release optional door strips to help with water proofing?

It is 100% totaled and do not accept any other answer. All three of my parents cars flooded with 24" of salt water and the insurance company didn't even bother to look at them. That flood water contains a good amount of sewage and if it got inside it'll never be the same.

I was fortunate to get my CT into extract mode and get out before the storm surge got me!

Yeah they will total it for sure. My Aston Martin was flooded during Sandy in 2012 back when I lived in Manhattan and State Farm waited for the adjuster to check it out first. It’s just a procedural thing but they will total it.

Don't forget wade mode also. I turned on after I limped the truck out of the way. Water came out of the truck when pressurized.

I think wade mode is good for 27 inches.

I would grab the cabin air filter if it did not get ruined. Will save you some bucks when you replace it.

I would take every single thing out of it you possibly can with out them notice
Floor mats , cabin filter , treys , portable charger , sun shade just to start. I would even be posting up a tire switch out for 1k with someone local ? I’m petty like that

You can get another Foundation Series immediately (they're still selling the remaining ones). Unless you have another reservation from around launch day, you'll be at the back of the queue, behind all the people who passed on the FS to get a non-Foundation one.

Good thinking.

10 am today Truck told me today that doors were unlocked. So I locked them remotely. Just went to check on her and she's shut down I think.

And doors are locked. Like he said above would be nice to salvage some of the parts. And I can't put it into transport mode.

Least of my worries now. Clearwater area. Looking at Milton and much more water than we had already. Everything we salvaged went into a pod. Now the pod is going to flood. Probably not covered by my flood policy, so have to come back after 2nd flood and move pod contents back to house contents.

Good idea to order FS now.

About 1.5 in in floor. Much higher outside. Water level above 35" tires.

Holy shit! How far inland are you? We are on East Fort Lauderdale and I’ve only seen it this bad once in 40+ years. Stay safe

it sounds like water got into the battery pack. Take precautions, I would move the truck away from the house. You dont want any cells shorting out. Be safe! see the Ben Sullins video. Ben is fully a supporter of EVs and has made many videos debunking any and all EV FUD that is out there.

Interesting. Like I said earlier, the alerts I was getting were in the LV system. Did override to limp mode 4mph to higher ground. HV was at 50%. Then it shut down a few days later. I think LV system faults drained LV system. Plenty of juice left in main battery. Truck shut down now.

Was looking at transport mode and jumping LV system to engage transport mode. That's the towing instructions. Would like to get stuff out of bed also.
