I’ve been following serval posts about Powershare installations and difficulties with solar and/or powerwall. Is there general consensus to wait untill mid-summer for new software?
In my situation, I bought the Foundation upgrade in part with the Tesla promised Powershare W/solar compatibility. QMerit assigned me an installed and I confirm that I wanted solar…they even asked me if I wanted a powerwall too, I responded with “let’s see the estimate of additional cost”.
I waited and waited, meanwhile my selected installer actually did a video with Powershare installed with solar that appeared to work. When I contacted the installer, they asked for power usage from may utility and I responded that the house was not 100% occupied all the time and that data wouldn’t make sense.
Again, I waited and waited and never heard back from the installer. They didn’t return my calls or text. Finally, after several days of calling them over and over, they sent me an email saying that they were no longer doing Tesla installs. I confirm this with Qmerit and another installer was assigned..
After getting my gateway transferred from the old installer to the new installer, the new installer told me that the gateway he received is not compatible with solar. Was it ever compatible? Did my old installer give my solar compatible gateway to someone else?
QMerit {in Tesla’s pocket}, now tells me that my gateway given to the new installer is not compatible with solar. Is this true or is Tesla just rewriting the software? They have been leading me to believe for nearly a year that my installed power chair would be compatible with solar and a power wall. What changed?
Basically, I need some advice on where to go from here. Did Tesla just BS everybody when pushing the cyber truck foundation power share credit? Is there an exchange option? How much for a potential upgrade with a compatible system? Does anyone else have one that functions properly? Well, Tesla give me some type of credit for the option I paid for? Where can the installer go to get some accurate information? QMerit has been useless, Tesla is almost impossible to contact directly, any info?
Recommendations greatly appreciated!
