If demand was greater they would go back to more days.
As Per Joe Tegtmeyer's July 15th video.
Production shifts are reduced from Monday-Saturday to Monday-Thursday 6am-6pm.

Due to increased efficiency, even with the reduced production hours, Model Y and Cybertruck production are expected to remain the same.

Right, but if they had excess demand they would be able to make more vehicles by keeping production open more days. They are getting faster and more efficient, but they also don't have the orders and/or components to justify more production days.

You're making big assumptions based on very little information. There are 100 reasons they may have gone to this production schedule. Fact is they're still ramping up and if demand was tanking they would not still be focused on just FS.

No. It's logic. No assumptions at all. When we saw demand ramp globally last year China and Germany were working full weeks, but demand has softened and they are doing 4 day weeks. The 125k run rate is based on a full week. Even though they've cut days and lowered potential production, they are still consistently getting more efficient which means they didn't drop in moving to 4 days, but they absolutely would make a lot more vehicles with those 3 extra days.

Demand is what it is for the FS. I never said it was tanking. They went through the entire pre-order list and have now opened it up to anyone in the US. Soon they will switch to non-FS.

Reducing production to 4 days is very un-Elon-like. If demand was there he would demand they work 7 days a week.

There are 150 or so SC delivering Cybertrucks in the US. If they each deliver 2 a day that’s 1800 per week. I would say that they are very close to production

The shift change was due to softness in overall Model Y demand, which takes up the majority of Austin production.

Different SCs have different mixes and I think the production rates are likely higher than the 1400 previously reported. Anecdotally, Charlotte SC said they are delivering between 4-6 per week about 1.5 weeks ago. They said they've had some weeks of much higher and some weeks of 0.

Whats the fun part?
Oh let's see... the handling, the sound of the motors, the wicked quick acceleration, robo security voice, 4 wheel steering, showing off the tonneau cover, the light show, playing 2 player vampire survivors on the screen, the look of the truck... but I think on the top of the list is seeing the wild excitement from kids. A couple weeks ago, there was a bus full of cheering, clapping kids in front of my truck in traffic. So cool to see.

Yes, Tesla has run out of marketing strategies to help move FS trucks. Ordering is now open to any Tom, Dick or Harry.

After this last hurrah Tesla has no choice but to open up non-FS orders to keep the CT assembly line humming along.
