That assumes sentry mode is on.
Reaching is a different action than just approaching and would have less false activations (though, at that point, aren't you like 2 inches away from the normal button anyway?)
yes. Sentry mode is always on for me. It'd just be nice to not have to press the button in first. I mean, it isn't life altering but it'd be nice all the same...

So pretty much nobody has tactile, clicky front buttons?
Mine were never "tactile, clicky" buttons but I don't see how it really matters. When I push a door button I can immediately hear the door pop open. The feedback is the door opening. I mean, it's a button, you push it and the door opens. Where is the problem? If the door doesn't open after I push the button I know my phone key is not in Bluetooth range. Having "clicky" buttons isn't going to change that.

I've had products that had "clicky" buttons but just because the button clicked didn't mean it recognized a button push. That's worse than not having the click to begin with.
