FSD 14.1.7 - Is there a way to tell it to BACK IN to a driveway instead of going in head first?

FSD 14.1.7 - Is there a way to tell it to BACK IN to a driveway instead of going in head first? We have our charger outside the garage (or should I call it the 'storage space') and we normally 'back in' so the cable for the charger is closest to the garage (we use it to charge our CT and M-YLR, switching off).

Haven't seen anything that says to tell it to 'back in' at 'home' or such... Is there?

Try backing in yourself and then on your next drive start FSD from that parked position. I think it remembers how it was parked and returns in the same way. I used FSD today from a backed in position and when I returned, completely on FSD, it went right back to that position - hands free, no input from me!

I’ll try that. First time I went head in.. fine if I didn’t, you know, have an electric vehicle that needs to be plugged in

I always back into my garage and with 14.1.7, I’m 2 of 4 for backing in. The first two times, it pulled head in (I chose “charger” for the parking). The last two times, it’s backed in but it parks in front of my wife’s garage door, not mine (the one that auto opens lol). I think what triggered it to back in was: 3rd time, I chose “driveway”, then this morning I chose charger and it backed in.

I’d love to know the logic of how it decides head in vs backing in, and I’d love for it to back into my garage. But I’ll take what we got! 🙂

Hmmm... Well, twice now I have backed it in 'manually' to the driveway, but it still wants to pull in front first... I'll try it a couple more times, but it doesn't seem to matter from a driveway... At WORK when I back into a space (all the time) it DID pull up and back in, but that's in a parking lot at work, not my driveway.

Set it to park on the street at your house. Once it is about to park, switch to driveway and it will back in. That worked for me, but it’s a hack and needs to be done every time (at least in my case).
