Spent some time using it last night. Had two items I thought I’d report

1) when it turns on residential streets (ie at low speeds) it turns quite narrow- making left turns on residential streets was into oncoming lane more than I’d care. There were no cars in those lanes at that time so perhaps if there were it would adjust turning arc. Turning right often put car close to the curb / bicycle path on right side (ie very narrow turn). Not sure if this is a function of drive by wire capability but it was tricky for me. Id hope that can be recalibrated in updates.

Less issues on main highway road. In those circumstances changing lanes often took longer than I’d hope but I suspect I need to adjust to that and I think software said future updates are to focus on improving lane changes.

What’s also interesting as I love ina gated community it doesn’t know yet how to navigate guard gates. Agree that’s a tough one to solve. You just need to take over control during that process

It’s certainly an amazing technology. Looking forward to more use. Other than the above experience was quite good.

Yeah I took it out to get charged up and tested out the FSD. Definitely do not recommend the auto offset speed limit. It immediately started speeding (42 in a 40) and definitely was about to blow through a stop sign that was very visible and clearly marked. So I had to step in twice to correct its navigation (two ways to go out of the street) and avoid blowing through a stop.

After that it was impressive. It took consecutive double lane roundabouts without issue that I usually have to overthink (no traffic though) and handled a freeway exit into a construction zone with barriers and cones followed by a complex left light where an entirely different light is visible simultaneously, ie it didn’t get confused by the green light for traffic going a different direction.

I used 12.3.6 on an X loaner and so far it seems pretty similar except for the stop sign it didn’t see. Hopefully we’ll get the option of tweaking its driving personality to be more chill. So far there seems to be no option for adjusting the driving “personality” like with the X. Auto speed limit offset probably is too aggressive for most people’s liking. It was going 46 in a 40 after it tried to blow through the stop. There was no traffic at that hour but probably not a great idea to be pushing the speed all the time. Better to just use the dial to adjust the max as you get more comfortable.

Yes. I noticed there isn’t a choice between Moderate and Aggressive lane changes. I would say it felt like it was in between moderate and aggressive. I disengaged twice on the way to work. Once because I didn’t want to get over to the other lane. The other disengagement was on me alone. I was not ready to trust it on a curved over the freeway ramp. Maybe tomorrow. Not on the first or second trip.

Glad your roundabouts worked. Took one this morning and it ignored a car circling from the left. Had to disengage - if ai had not it definitely would have pulled out in front pf a car. Definitely work in progress. I reported the incident through mic so hopefully helping one small step at a time.

Oh yeah, FSD will happily do some things it would chime about if you were driving manually. The difference is it thinks it knows what it’s doing when on FSD but doesn’t know what you’re doing or about to do when in manual.

I had zero traffic so it wasn’t a real test just a small sample of whether it could handle some complexity. I know it gets a lot sketchier with traffic and it starts to hesitate or charge ahead like in your case. With the X set to the conservative mode it was very timid especially in roundabouts and I had to gun it a few times when it refused to cut in.
