The initial drop in speed causes problems in traffic, as in getting rear-ended. And it is frustrating, and often takes 2 or 3 on/offs to get the velocity I want. My Tesla 3 does not have these problems.

Speed control with FSD is so annoying that my passengers consistently ask me not to use FSD.

Same issue. Super dumb. I reported it using the built-in system that asks “why did you disengage FSD.”

Same issue on starting FSD while driving. Holding the pedal for a few seconds seems to lessen the slowdown. And on the speed overwrite, on my daily trips I have a 55 mph zone where the nav thinks it is a 45 zone, so it used to slow down blocking traffic, so I overwrite to 60 to keep pace, but then driving in a real 45 zone it becomes a problem. So there is a daily scroll back and forth.
It is all good, just minor tuning, keeps me engaged…

Sometimes I have to hold the pedal so long that it nags me and nearly or completely disengages.

And school zones are totally ignored by FSD. School zone is 20 mph here, when I make the turn on to the road I drop it down to 22 then when it hits the sign for 20 it sets the speed at 40 and I have to drop it down quickly that does not make any sense at all.

Yup. Jams on regen when I use FSD after already driving. It gets upset if you bother it AFTER you began the trip. Like “wait…what…you want me to drive NOW..”!

As for speed, I have driven 40 years and have NEVER gotten a speeding ticket. I’m a constant 5-7 above max. In my CT I “am driven” faster than I have ever have on my own. I consistently drive 78-80 in 65-70 zones because that’s how she flies. Scares the hell out of me in school zones so I just shut it off. I’m constantly scrolling that wheel and doing math problems (what’s 14% of 55…12% of 65)
