I don't think I'm being overly dramatic when I say the Cybertruck is the greatest accomplishment mankind has ever or will ever attain.

Also, one of the most frustrating experiences in the world is when you can see that your route is wrong, and you know exactly how to fix it, and you have no input whatsoever. All you can do is push the microphone button and repeat the same solutions in the blind, to no one in particular, with no feedback or acknowledgment, and nothing ever changes.

"Please don't route me that way. That road is a dead-end into a barbed wire fence, and the road you're trying to reach doesn't intersect, and even if it did, it's an unpaved farm access road that nobody should be driving on anyway. When you think you're turning onto that road, you're crossing into a restricted area and turning onto a sidewalk."

EVERY. DAY.

Please let me teach my truck what route I want it to drive for my auto-nav destinations at least.

I hear ya. Keep the faith, there is hope. In the Des Moines metro we had a left-hand exit for the I-35/80 mixmaster and they replaced it in November 2024 with a right-hand flyover exit. For 6 months until just last week it consistently was trying to exit left where there was no longer an exit. Months of using the microphone reporting finally paid off (that's what I tell myself anyway).

FWIW Apple Maps and Google Maps had the new exit in their route plans within 48 hours of the exit being opened in November. It's bugs like this that make me believe that true unrestricted Robotaxi/unsupervised FSD is further off than we all hope.

I wonder if some GPS navigation Apps like Waze could prevent driving to a dead end?

I wish there was an easy way to modify and customise an itinerary that the Navigation generates.
You can add some way points but I wish this could be memorised for the next trip.

I believe you can generate an itinerary using Google map and sent it to the Tesla Navigation.

I like to think they go somewhere, not just into the void. I think it would be easier for us if we could set up our own trip in navigation, and have fsd follow that. Unfortunately, they are still two seperate applications, and sometimes the route displayed is not the one fsd opts to take.

Your subject line caught my eye because I just saw this post on one of my feeds, and I wanted to thank you for your appropriate use of the Void. ?

When I build the route that way, it looks correct. When I get into the truck, it automatically switches to the farm access road instead. My theory is the map we see in the vehicle is different than the map it's using to plan, because the display has all the right roads available, and navigation will transpose me 50 feet west to comply with the route it spat out instead.
