DC (direct current) "freezes" the muscles - you get "stuck" and cant let go.
AC ( alternating current) doesn't

it's the voltage that kills, the body has high resistance, as low as 50v dc can kill, ac stings as long as the path isn't thru the heart,
AC will cause muscles to clench as well, don't believe the myths.

Voltage is what gives it reach, current burns, both can kill, as you pointed out.

Me, on ladder: “Is this thing off?”
Coworker: “Yeah it’s off.”
Me: “This is a lot of voltage, are you sure?”
Coworker: “Of course I’m sure!”
30 seconds later…
Me: wakes up on the floor

Be careful out there, kids

Been there before. I get sweaty when I change the batteries to my tv remote(slight exaggeration).

Maybe an exaggeration now. But with TVs getting so large, you need to sit far enough away that you need a high power remote. Won’t be long till 12V remote batteries and then that sweaty instinct might be beneficial.

I'm converting everything to 48v

I'll be able to change the channel for the whole neighborhood

Los Angeles has been expanding its metro lines, light rail..
My understanding is the wires above the trains are 700vdc.
What I don't understand is why they wouldn't have a large battery array and then basically use the overhead lines to keep the charge..maybe they have a large capacitor in the trains that help stabilize the power as they rub the lines.

750 volts, yeah. Bart is 1000. The High Speed Rail corridor is 25000 volts.

They don't use a large battery array because they were designed before lithium batteries were invented.
