I can field this one:

"We expect to begin shipping the non-Foundation Series later this year. Tax credit eligibility TBD."

I’d put that right there with Tesla “expecting” delivery of FS CTs configured in 12/24 by the end of March.

I wouldn’t hold my breath….

As far as the tax credit is concerned, I think that’s an even greater mystery!??

They weren't. Out of the blue Tesla stopped orders and they became unicorns, soon after the AWD was introduced.

Meaning, with the models you are talking about here, they gave you a chance to buy it if you pre-ordered, and if you didn’t pull the trigger on the limited edition, they canceled your reservation and you had to get to the back of the line like anyone else for a regular model?

No. They have never done that.

But with the Model Y, they did cancel all orders for the rear wheel model as they didn't know when they'd get to producing it.

With the Model 3, they allowed reservation holders to configure it or buy it off menu - as well as people off the street - at the end of the reservation period. But at that point, they were allowing people off the street to buy the higher priced vehicles.

Basically, they burn through the list at the higher price, then open that price to the street while allowing the list to get at the next model, etc.
