Canada is considering revising the EV rebate program to include SUVs and Pickups coming out in 2022 and beyond.
The current federal rebate in Canada has a dollar value cutoff that would not allow any current EV SUVs or upcoming SUVs or pickups to qualify. They are looking at expanding thatprogram to include these vehicles as 3/4 of the vehicles sold in Canada are trucks or SUVs.

Don't get too excited about any promises of helping the green revolution from ANY level of Canadian government. The last round of rebates basically left you with the short range two wheel drive Model 3 as the only qualifying Tesla. Mildly useful if you live in a city and you never plan on taking any long distance winter trips. They know full well that winters are long and snowy in most of the Canadian territory and 4 wheel drive is not a luxury. They know that a large part of the year it is cold and dark and there will be higher energy consumption which will reduce range. Think of what driving on partially plowed roads with your headlights and seat warmer on and your wipers trying to keep up with the snow does to your range. They also know that other than big city living means great distances need to be travelled, meaning the take-up of standard range two wheel drive Teslas would be tiny: not having to pay out very much incentives. They are just virtue signalling! A couple of months ago they announced that they would be adding luxury tax to vehicles over a certain amount which would (with the exchange rate) mean CT2 and CT3 buyers would be paying a hefty premium for cutting out huge amounts of carbon because they chose a truck that could ACTUALLY motivate someone to switch from an ICE polluting beast without loosing useful (read range and 4 wheel drive)features of why people buy trucks. The current government claims to be for the environment while buying leaky pipelines for $4.5 Billion and subsidizing gas and oil. Hypocrites! the party in waiting owes their existence to the Alberta and Saskatchewan oil industries. DON't hold your breath!

Canadian politicians love the revenues and taxes they get from the Alberta Tar Sands. Never mind that, per gallon of finished petrol products, it's some of the most carbon intensive oil reserves in the world.

Don't expect the Cybertruck to be covered/included anytime soon!

For instance, the US price to pay a deposit was US$100. The official exchange rate at that time would have put the Canadian equivalent at about C$130, but Tesla made it C$150. So when the US prices are announced, Canadians will not know theirs -- until Tesla says so.

2. Some variants of the CT are bound to exceed a six-figure Canadian amount. That means an additional surtax of 10% on the amount over C$100,000.

That's not really news for Canadians. All US companies with a presence in Canada do it. Do you know what the price of a burger at McDonald's will be from the US advertisement? Heck, they don't even have consistent pricing in our metro area.

100% correct - Canuck rebates are a joke so someone can say they have rebates when really they don't. I imagine they'll have rebates on all trucks under 50k Canadian that get 800km range.
