The compute (inferencing ) power to run Grok on vehicles will be huge.
Last night I used the Grok 4 app (upgraded from Grok 3). The app is unlike any other AI model app. Xai did a great job. Having this in our trucks will be amazing. If Tesla allows integration with our email/phone number the possilities are endless as this would allow tasks and connecting notifications in or out of the vehicles. Some tech enthusiasts may strongly consider buying a Tesla after this upgrade. I would love to see the faces of prospective Tesla buyers who watch demos of Grok in showrooms. I wouldn't be surprised if Grok also could do troubleshooting of the vehicles. Certainly the option to never touch the screen again becomes a real possibility, maybe not immediately but soon. This is a major step towards unsupervised FSD. Grok 4 has full agentic capabilities and will likely have access to vehicle cameras.
This single upgrade must have other car mfg going nuts since they all just fell really far behind. In the world of car mfging this is a game changer.
Sales are going to soar when the public sees demos of Grok integration. Guaranteed.

People who have long commute times are going to suddenly realize that they can actually get serious work done while sitting in traffic. Guided research is a game changer. I've been using it like crazy.

"Hey Grok, I'm driving right now, so I can can't devote too much attention to this, but tell me about using unistrut to mount solar panels to the rooftop of a utility shed. What are most DIYers doing for this? What are the hardware considerations?".

Boom. Just saved myself 30 minutes or more sitting locked to a computer desk.

You are right. Nothing from any other car company will approach the feature set, entertainment, and educational opportunities of riding in a Tesla equipped with Grok. Features we haven't even imagined yet being designed for use with Grok.

Grok 4 update version 2025.26 coming ..

"As expected, Grok will only be available on AMD Ryzen-based vehicles. Tesla says that it will also be limited to the United States and require Premium Connectivity, but it looks like it won’t require a subscription to anything else, such as Super Grok.

Unfortunately, Tesla announced that Grok will not be able to control elements in your vehicle and that the old voice command system will still be used to do that."

Well, nobody’s perfect.

In a series of posts on X, the AI chatbot Grok apologized for what it admitted was “horrific behavior.”

The posts appear to be an official statement from xAI, the Elon Musk-led company behind Grok, as opposed to an AI-generated explanation for Grok’s posts. (xAI recently acquired X, where Grok is prominently featured.)

Grok’s latest controversy comes after Musk had indicated he wanted to make the chatbot less “politically correct,” then declared on July 4 that the company had “improved @Grok significantly.” In short order, the chatbot was making posts criticizing Democrats and Hollywood’s “Jewish executives,” repeating antisemitic memes, and even expressing support for Adolf Hitler and referring to itself as “MechaHitler.”

As a result, xAI deleted some of Grok’s posts, temporarily took the chatbot offline, and updated its public system prompts.

So... if GROK does not integrate with the Truck, as I've heard, and is merely an app you can use in the truck, it won't save you any more time than if you drove a Toyota Camry with a cell phone and Bluetooth...
I mean, you'd save time either way, of course.

I don't know about you, but I don't feel comfortable manually driving and deeply exploring a highly complex topic. In fact, no-one should as it's dangerous. Full Grok integration is coming, but it won't be available on the first iteration. This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who understands Tesla's development lifecycle center around "safety 1st".

Exactly! There will be many more updates to follow as Grok becomes integrated with Tesla vehicle features and the control of those features.

Haha!! Yes, patience and appreciation for just being able to have this type of innovation is a lacking virtue in Tesla owners and society in general these days. *Golden Grok Now!*

AI is very, very bad!

Teslas have had enough issues, so why add another computer mishap intentionally?
