There are two "Grok 4" AI agents. One, "Grok 4" is a single agent AI that is $30/month. The second is the smarter "Grok 4 Heavy" which uses multiple AI agents within it's core to solve problems by comparing answers and choosing the best one. "Grok 4 Heavy" is $300/month. I would believe that Premium Connectivity users will be using "Grok 4" single agent based on the price of monthly service. My guess is that "Foundation Series" owners will be given Grok 4 as an additional upgrade. It may also be included with "Premium Connectivity" upgrade.
Na they won't complicate things by differentiating between foundation and non foundation. No chance.

my guess is, we will get grok 3 until they move grok 4 to basic. Historically they've had the newest basic builds behind a paywall for a bit. It'll probably be what we have now with voice + some voice commands for the vehicle... maybe not even that for release.

Supergrok and Heavy features aren't really needed in a vehicle tbh. At least not immediately for 98% of tesla drivers. It's not like they are going to integrate the cabin camera so you can ask grok how your hair looks or you are going to generate/eval code. Maybe down the line once we hit lvl 4/5 but even then you'd probably be working off a laptop with grok on the web.

Hmm, you could be right. But, I'm pretty sure that "Premium Connectivity" is required for Grok integration regardless of version. Foundation Series owners all have premium connectivity and all available upgrades for a CyberTruck. Now, CyberTruck can be optioned with the upgrades you choose. If you didn't choose "Premium Connectivity" you will not be able to use Grok.

Since Grok 4 was just announced and Grok 3 has been around for several months now, I'm confident Grok 4 will be the AI Tesla vehicles will be upgraded with. (I could be wrong and you could be right but withholding it from Tesla until a week after Grok 4 is introduced seems to indicated a Grok 4 integraiton.)

After watching the Grok 4 announcement last night I am Super Excited for Grok to arrive in my CyberTruck!!

"The entire Grok UI was already included in software update 2025.20, but it’s not exposed to users. Typically, a new feature like Grok requires a vehicle update to be added; however, this version may be different, as it’s locked behind a server-side configuration.

The Tesla app was recently updated to support logging in to Grok, so it appears that all or most of the necessary pieces are already in place.

Grok is also expected to support continuous conversations, meaning that you’ll be able to hold a conversation with it and go back and forth about a certain topic. While there are hints of a wake word in the code, for now, it seems like you’ll press the steering wheel button once to activate it, and then again to turn it off.

For those excited about AI and Grok, this will be one of the biggest additions to Tesla’s software in years, possibly only rivaled by the Dashcam / Sentry Mode feature and FSD Beta.

It shouldn’t be long now before we all have a chance to try it out for ourselves."

Musk: Grok AI Arriving in Teslas Next Week

The compute (inferencing ) power to run Grok on vehicles will be huge.
Last night I used the Grok 4 app (upgraded from Grok 3). The app is unlike any other AI model app. Xai did a great job. Having this in our trucks will be amazing. If Tesla allows integration with our email/phone number the possilities are endless as this would allow tasks and connecting notifications in or out of the vehicles. Some tech enthusiasts may strongly consider buying a Tesla after this upgrade. I would love to see the faces of prospective Tesla buyers who watch demos of Grok in showrooms. I wouldn't be surprised if Grok also could do troubleshooting of the vehicles. Certainly the option to never touch the screen again becomes a real possibility, maybe not immediately but soon. This is a major step towards unsupervised FSD. Grok 4 has full agentic capabilities and will likely have access to vehicle cameras.
This single upgrade must have other car mfg going nuts since they all just fell really far behind. In the world of car mfging this is a game changer.

You are absolutely correct. AI is the *Big Bang* of Intelligence with Grok making a vehicle a revolutionary machine. Possibilities are limitless as to how this will change things in the automotive industry.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the wake word was the name you gave your Cybertruck?

"Hey, Fluffy, let's go to Dairy Queen!"

Maybe... Just Maybe, when using FSD, the Navigation will (I know you can turn off spoken directions and I only use that when I'm in a new place) stop saying "Take the next right". I'm like "No. YOU take the next right. You're the one driving!"...

No, it should just say "I'm taking the next right." That's so I'll know what's coming up.

Seriously... If the car is driving, it should say "I'm turning right on Central Avenue ...." instead of "Turn right on Central Avenue."

Wishful thinking? Probably.
If it's the fully featured version of Grok; then you absolutely will be able to do all of the above. And more.

Hope we will be able to opt out if we decide to…
I'm pretty sure it will be mandatory. To unlock the door of your truck, Grok will do a voice check

And you are basing your opinion on what facts? Absolute nonsense. You are simply trying to create a negative narrative.

I am confident it will be tied to premium connectivity upgrade. It is a cloud based feature that is independent of CyberTruck hardware & software unlike "voice command" in the truck. I would assume that Foundation Series owners will get Grok 4 as a free upgrade. Otherwise, Premium Connectivity upgrade is required and Grok 4 may/maynot be an additional upgrade on top of that.
It’s already been confirmed on X that Grok is part of Premium Connectivity AND requires a Grok subscription (or an X Premium subscription). You need both to have KITT.

Fingers crossed Foundation Series owners won't have to pay for the "Grok Subscription." I feel like I deserve that at least for being a "Founder."
