Thanks, I did see that - but I'm still not clear on what it actually is, and how it's installed. Got any pics of it uninstalled? Maybe the installation manual?

The pics on the website say "heavy duty iron plate" and has a picture of a flat plate. So, is it a plate? Or a box made of that kind of plate? And how do you securely mount it?

It is delivered as flat steel plates. It assembles inside the console (so it can’t be taken out) and four screws secure it to the inside of the console. This does make 4 small holes from self-tapping screws deep inside where you can’t see them if you have to remove it for any reason. It assembles as a three-sided safe, with the front left open to access the USB port and outlet. Very slick actually, and high quality powder coated steel. ??

Based on the images it looks perfect, but I don’t know if I’d go with the biometrics one. God forbid you’re in a situation where you need to draw your weapon and the biometrics can’t read your finger.

I checked this one out and the only issue is that I use the USBC in there and this safe takes that away sadly.

Instead I use the glove compartment and have it PIN enable to open. I'm good with this option since I don't have anything in there that requires constant access.

I do the same. About as secure as it needs to be unless someone steals the truck then it doesn't matter. The console safe is cool but then you have to pull out the organizer tray, then your key that you have to carry or fumble with the code to get it open. Not a huge fan of either option but the glovebox seems to be best. Had to move my registration to the console in case I get pulled over tho.

Unfortunately, glovebox is a "not allowed" exception in many states.
