I haven't seen one of these in years! I use one on my Mazda all the time, especially when it rains. Great for taking excess water (or even snow) off; nothing like coming back to the car and finding it just frosted in fog or dew... but a swipe of this will take it (and whatever dust accompanied it) right off and clear the windows and mirrors.Instead of using towels, why not a water blade? It won't scratch the truck and makes very quick work of water. The fact that the truck is flat panels makes this seem to be ideal. I use the waterblade on my little Maverick and our Model Y and both look great.
Bonus: It's really fast.
Not sure it'll help with waterspots, but certainly reduces the number of towels you need.
The spots in OPs post don't look like water to me. They look oily.
