Hansshow Electric Running Board - URGENT HELP

Hello, I recently had Hansshow shop in Santa Ana installed the Hansshow electric running board on my 2026 Cyberbeast. They tested at the end of the install, everything worked fine; the same evening it stopped working: either stopped completely or moving slowly (step by step till fully extended or fully closed). Hansshow shop installer thought it's a software issue so they did a software update on the control board (connected with the China engineering team) and they were willing to swap with another new set of the electric running board. Same thing happened, it worked well after the install but then the same evening, it stopped working again.

I am hoping to get some perspective (from those who have installed the same product) what may have been the underlying root cause and how I can get this working fully?

First, I don’t have the same product but Ive messed with the frunk power supply a fair amount and I believe thats what this runs on. Enough at least to know it can be temperamental. Have you tried resetting your electronic fuse by going to outlets and mods, looking for a red triangle and hitting reset if there is one?​

Thank you for your kind suggestion. I assume it runs on the frunk power supply, as you mentioned. I could not seem to find the red triangle on the Outlets and Mods tab to do the reset. Will power shutdown help to reset this?

It won’t. But if they show as blue and on then you’re probably ok.

Does the step act the same when controlled by the app?

Those steps are supposed to have an anti pinch/resistance switch. The powered or slave arms for extending could be binding and activating it. I have had similar running boards for a year and there are only three issues I have had.

1. Requires turning frunk power on after any updates.

2. Any need to lift at service center requires removal of the step not the arms.

3. Will not open in my parking spot on low suspension setting. It is un even ground and hits then stops.

1. You should be able to just toggle the switch in the outlets menu. After a reset it can take a minute to provide power.

The app I use is "smartctr" it connects via Bluetooth. I would download the app and do a scan to see if it picks up your running boards.

If your frunk power is on try to use the app to verify if its the steps cpu miss reading the door switch. I.e functions fine with app vs just opening/closing the door.

If thats not an option it could be bad or loose connection to the frunk power or a loose connection at either motor where the barrel plugs connect to the two motors.

Do both steps stutter to open?

Thank you for your kind and detailed suggestions. I will try to download the app and scan if it will connect.

Which electric running board brand is yours? Did it come with the above app or did you find the app independently?

We can't rule out yet that both sets are defective but the Hansshow installer confirmed that he swapped the whole entire set (including the boards, wiring, connections).

Both sides either don't move or move with the step functions like described in the video.

Hi, I was informed that the whole set, which I assume included the CPU, CAN bus connectors too. They also switched the motors and support arms as far as I know.
