Do you guys still put it in car wash mode if you’re washing it at home?
Does the car lock itself and the alarm goes off because of the water pressure?
Lastly, if you drive immediately after does the windshield wiper turn on?

such silly questions I know. Thanks in advance.

No to car wash mode, but don't spray the charge port overly hard.

No alarm or door opening (with phone in pocket)

I let it drip dry so windshield is dry, but you could run the wiper to dry it.

I do not put the CT in carwash mode when washing at home. The wiper has not come on when I’m washing it at home. I have it set to not lock when it is at home, so no alarms.

Do you guys still put it in car wash mode if you’re washing it at home? No, and I always hand wash in my driveway. Extension micro brush and small step ladder.

Does the car lock itself and the alarm goes off because of the water pressure? No, because I leave my phone inside the vehicle while washing and drying. I never use high pressure wash.

Lastly, if you drive immediately after does the windshield wiper turn on? I never drive immediately, I hand dry completely to avoid water spots/streams.

Not silly questions, if you don't know, you don't know.

Much welcome.

I do put it in Car wash mode because I usually pull up to my house and or pull out of my garage and instead of selecting several settings (windows up, doors unlock, lower truck, etc. ) car wash mode does that with the push off a button.
I foam gun wash then wipe down or power rinse. Final step is to DI water rinse. Half the time I will then drive to let the water run off spot less and that is when I take it out of car wash mode and wipers do not come on even with wet truck. The alarm has never come on. I do have to pause music because it will keep playing inside the truck.

Sounds like you just need to leave your cell phone away from the car. That’s all I do.

And I use a high pressure washer. There is no paint or coating to damage. It’s straight up metal. No relation to triggering alarms either. Never happened to me (or imagine how it would).

Btw, doesn’t car wash mode put the car in neutral / free roll? You are asking for a roll away disaster with even a slight decline/incline. Bad idea imho.

No, look at what car wash mode does. It's designed for a moving car wash. Even at a manual commercial car wash, there's no reason to enable it.

Car wash mode was really first created because the cars wouldn't stay in neutral.

Sufficient water pressure will activate the door and charge flap open switches. That's why car wash mode disables those functions.

I use a pressure washer at home. None of that ever happens. I’ve had my CT for 5 months and washed it 3 times already. No issues whatsoever. Car wash mode would be the last thing you want to do if you have an inclined driveway.

So, if banging you head against the wall hurts, don't do it.
If spraying at the charge port opens, don't do it.

And FYI, the charge port is absolutely 100% weather resistant. I believe it even had drain holes. Spraying water in the port isn't going to cause an issue. It's not as if the cover even has any gaskets.

No one sprays water trying to open the doors or charge port, but it can happen. Thus, car wash mode, which is not just for moving washes.

The charge port door has a gasket.

Teslas didn't originally have car wash mode. But when folks started taking them through the automated washes, things like keeping it in neutral, wipers off, mirrors, and charge ports became an issues for automated lines.

That's why Tesla added car wash mode.
