Am I correct that all model S and X vehicles ever sold have free supercharging? How the actual f are cyberbeast owners getting shorted on this? I was just looking at the current configurator and it was really pi*sing me off.

The people who bought a Founders Series Cybertruck at the end of 2024 were offered free supercharging for life. Those of us who bought at this time are the smartest among us (I am not one of them).

Free supercharging has always been an insane offer, and I am amazed it ever existed at all. I wish I had it, but such is life.

No. Not all s and X ever sold have free supercharging. Only those sold before 2016 that have never had an ownership change (select few even those that have) and those sold after late 2024 which is also true of cyberbeasts.

No, this is not correct. It has been a big reason I’ve hung onto my 2014 Model S. Early on it was included, then it has been added and removed promotionally at certain times.

There may be some that use the interstate a lot that would benefit from free supercharging but I gave up gas stations (and love it), and the thought of having to sit in line to supercharge locally is simply not worth it in my mind. I only go on road trips a couple times a year. At $100/day for supercharging for a full day of driving the savings just isn’t worth the griping I am hearing. Would it have been a nice perk? Sure. What would be huge for me would be some way to get free electricity to charge my Cybertruck at home :)

FUSC (Free Unlimited Supercharging) is the last string TSLA pulls to get sales moving. There are also loyalty and veteran/1st responder/teacher incentives (currently $1k and $500 for CT). FUSC was first used with the MS and MX to overcome range anxiety. Most models before spring of '17 were SC01, which means FUSC stays with the VIN. Since then there have been various sales promotions to move cars, but most (all?) were limited to SC05 (FUSC for the 1st owner only, not transferrable, not even to yourself if your vehicle is totaled). SC05 was offered on Cyberbeasts (maybe Plaids too) around fall of '24. There are still a small number of SC05 CBs in inventory that were used as demo vehicles near me http://ts.la/nelson34164 (referral link won't apply to current Tesla owners, that's the loyalty $1k). Another gimmick is transferring SC01 to a new vehicle as SC05, so you could purchase a dead or alive SC01 and try that (but must be alive to transfer). I took advantage of this when the MYs were undersold winter of '23.

We did that too. Heads up, I was told that once you transfer your sc01 to a second car it becomes sc05 and no longer transferable. Not sure if this is true because I have not tried to transfer it again .

Yes, that is what I meant by "transfer as SC05" and SC05 is the current MY option. Thank you for the clarification.

Just trying to make sure nobody loses their lifetime supercharging. I’ve heard of boneheaded things like transferring to a spouse and this kind of thing causing it and Tesla is anything but helpful in understanding it.
