Got the invite (1128). Highly doubt I will take it. If it only had 500 miles of range…..

Were you planning on ordering the tri-motor? That's the only one that anticipated 500 miles of range (and Tesla is still hoping for it with the range extender)

The dual motor was only 300+

Go ahead and hit the start designing button, it doesn't create the order, just shows the options.
If you want FSD and maybe PowerShare, the deal is probably worth it. If you weren't or don't want to use both, then just chill.
Whatever you do, don't order then decide that you don't want it.

BTE, congrats on getting this far!

FYI, then range should be nearly identical to your Model 3, charging will take a little bit longer though, bigger vehicle.

I ordered the AWD but was going to spring for the Tri for the range. Now that the range is not there I will wait for the AWD and get the range extender later.

Thats what I'm doing. I do have a boat to tow and I've towed it behind my Model Y. It's not the most fun things, but it is doable. The range extender may help, but there's a big/cost benefit thing there.

I know that I don't need it when not towing. I've done a lot of long trips, 2400 miles in Dec, and never really needed it. As more and more chargers open, it becomes even less of a need.

Question…how do you guys tow with any Tesla, all the chargers are back up into for the most part? Do you have to park the load and then charge…

There are some pull-through sites.

But at this time, dropping the trailer is sometimes the only option. My wife got the process down to only 1-2 minutes.

Lots of folks camp around town, so Supercharging may not be required.

The range of the AWD concept was 300+ and production range is 340.

Okay, I was just curious because I have an S/Y and regular truck I use for towing/hauling, but was really interested on what people do with boats/campers.

Many of the SCs that I have visited have a couple of "nose in first" spots (typically on the end), where you can pull in with something mounted on the back...

most definitely. There is a ton of development headroom for the 4680s.
That's not what I was referring to. I'm talking about the ability to charge with a trailer.

I don't think that the 4680s have tremendous potential for more power. Tweaking, sure.
