I couldn't find a nice way to lock my A2Z CCS1 to NACS adapter to a CSS1 DCFC charging connector when using EVject, so I came up with this "Lock Ring" method. DCFC CCS1 chargers in remote areas are scarce and often charge at low speeds (50 kW or less), so when leaving my truck charging unattended, someone might be tempted to unplug the connector for their own use. I also use EVject for personal safety reasons.

I purchased some 3/8" thick black HDPE sheet material to make a ring that is slid onto the neck of the A2Z adapter before insert it into the EVject which is then plugged into the charging port on my Cybertruck.

I used a 1/4" router bit to cut the shape of the neck in the HDPE. It was easier than I imaged with a steady hand. Once the ring fit onto the neck part way (the neck is slightly tapered), I put the piece of HDPE into boiling water for a couple of minutes and then forced it all the way down on the adapter neck so that it compressed the spring loaded locking pin. This caused the ring to snugly fit the neck with no displacement under the 3.5 lb load of the locking pin.

To use, the following order of operations must be followed: First plug the CCS connector into the A2Z adapter, then slip the HDPE ring over the neck of the A2Z adapter pushing it all the way down so that the locking pin locks the CCS connector to the A2Z adapter. Next, plug the A2Z adapter into the EVject. This is a tight fit for the A2Z unlike my Hansshow adapter that easily fits into the EVject. This tells me that the adapters from various manufacturers are not exactly the same dimension. With the lock ring and the EVject on the A2Z adapter, insert the EVject into the Tesla charging port holding the EVject trigger down until the vehicle starts charging. Until the charging session stops and the port is unlocked, the CCS connector cannot be removed.

I'll use the locking ring when charging my Cybertruck at CCS chargers on my Alaska trip.
