When I got the CB 4 mo ago, I did not have the front windshield tinted. Rock damage is horrible in our area. One of the big factors in purchasing a beast with Luxe package (besides SC, FSD for life and the 2.6 sec “rocket” mode
) was free windshield replacement once a year for the next 4 years, and a small deductible if one needs another. Am a believer in XPEL+ but it’s big $$$, so I had 10% applied only to side windows in spite of most state laws saying that level could only be used on rear ones. In the bright TX & AZ sun, It looked awesome from the outside. However, driving safely at night was a different matter. FSD use became mandatory because I literally could not see anything beside people’s headlights & lighted obstacles. Twilight periods were even worse, since other vehicle headlights were not on! Reflections off the glass staring back at me inside the vehicle, was especially distracting. The next day I took the truck back into my tint shop and paid to have the front Pax & Driver windows tint reduced to 25%. The little wing windows were kept at 10%. That makes my lighter front window tint level barely noticeable. For me this has been the perfect compromise,, especially with our black roof shade that stays installed all Summer. I recently had the truck in for Service and got a CT loaner. Sitting down in it the first time that morning, I was shocked how bright it was inside. Literally I felt like I was in a fish bowl,, squinting most of the time!
