Tesla Cybertruck IMPORTANT! Please read before updating to 2025.38! IMG_1098

I don’t care all that much about v14. In my opinion, FSD was ready to unsupervised about a year ago (maybe not in CT, but in the sexy cars). I don’t super care if it gets a little “better” here and there. As long as I have to stare out the windshield and not touch my phone, it’s all the same to me. v14 might be a little smoother or less hesitant, but v13 is already better than most drivers. Until it’s unsupervised, couldn’t care less at this point. It only matters when Tesla musters up the balls to take accountability for their software, which will be an extremely pleasant surprise when it happens someday.

The Cybertruck is the least updated vehicle by Tesla so I’m update happy-hoping to get SOMETHING the rest of the fleet has! 😅
I don’t know. We have an x too and while engage FSD from park and ass are kind of cool and the fsd is a little smoother, I don’t really feel like the truck is that lacking. In fact, the steer by wire is one way where it’s miles ahead of the x for example.

I had a 2022 X and liked the software more (like auto gear select) but yeah, the electronic steering is top notch!

Well…perhaps this thread should be retitled or merged with the FSD 14 thread. As it stands now it evokes clickbait panic every time it comes to the top and I read the “IMPORTANT!” part.
Immediately I’m like, “this shit is gonna brick my Cybertruck, I better read it”. Then I remember what it’s actually about.

This. This is the exact reason the Cybertruck is miles ahead of any other vehicle on the road. Steer by wire + 4 wheel steering is the game changer that all other Teslas need to adapt to. My wife has a Model S for the last 3+ years. I love it. Speed. Comfort. And FSD that really makes you feel like you could drift off and wake up where you need to be. But when I get behind the Squircle. All bets are off. Nothing engages like the ability to go lock to lock in less than 360 degrees with one hand at the top. Nothing instills confidence like the steer by wire architecture that demands precision in a parking lot and at 80 mph on a freeway, without even a second thought about either during that transition. I will take the next and every update. At some point we will all enjoy unsupervised and we will look back and reminisce to a day when we “had to drive ourselves by hand, how barbaric!”

It's astonishing how quickly and accurately you can park.

Apparently so much so that I have passengers panic because they were expecting the speed lmao

Has there ever been any credible evidence that failing to update to a fresh software version when prompted by Tesla... would in any way delay one subsequently receiving a major update like FSD 14.x?

If so, if anyone has proof of such behavior, I wish they would just post that evidence. Until then, it's just so much speculative musings. And putting it under a provocative, must-see, title doesn't make it any more true.

Yes. This is the way it used to be in the past. You used to have a bunch of branches and if you found yourself on the wrong branch you could be stuck waiting for a significant amount of time to get the latest updates.

That ended many months ago when they merged everything onto the same firmware branch and basically issued whatever update your car was going to get in the same package. I’m not in a position to spend more time to explaining it more clearly but these are broad strokes that maybe somebody else will flesh out.

The bottom line is the advice given used to be valid. It isn’t anymore. The only reason we’re waiting for an update on CT is because they’re we’re not fully supported yet, not because we’re stuck on a dead-end firmware branch.

*Unless I’m missing something, or something has changed again.

Yes. A ton of it on older versions of FSD.
