I bought it about 10 years ago and have been upgrading at as time goes on. you can build a new system with my config above on alpriorityusa.com. I know the owner. He's a great guy.

Just a note: If your install shop is a dealer for ALP, they'll usually give you a packaged deal of buying the system and having it installed. If they're not a dealer, then your cost will be the system + install.

Does this help? Not trying to be evasive, just haven't priced them as a whole in a while.
Indeed it helps. I'm in CO/UT so no dealers here... CO has some nasty laws on it... they will tear it out of your car, etc, for having it, although its such a low chance of getting caught. You really would have to be an idiot to get caught with one on...like not having it shut down while the cop has you pinned for 30 seconds.

All the great installers seem to be in FL. My eyes are on ALP and the Uniden R9. I think if I find the right setup/price, then I would make the road trip to FL to get it done. When I priced it up, I was looking at $5-6K for product + install. When you said $1700... my first reaction was "Ok... road trip to FL next week!".?

I do know some local installers who would put it in the vehicle, but they aren't familiar with the CT. Your install was really clean. Thats the only way I would do it.

Lets PM before you do anything else. I might be able to offer some advice.

Here are the long awaited pictures. Sorry about the delay. I had a cold for what felt like a month and couldn't seem to shake it.

I drove down to Tint World in Orlando to get this work done and they did a fantastic job! Man I am so impressed with the quality of the install.

The interior install is so clean. You can see the controller below the screen and the other LED on the far left. I might move or remove that LED. need to live with it for a bit first.

The CPU and wiring can all be accessed by removing the kick panel below the console. It's the panel thats completely horizontal (like a ceiling) and has a cut out for the LED footwell light on the passenger side. I LOVE this. it's super easy to access and work on if needed.

They installed 6 laser heads and 2 radar heads. The laser heads are visible and the radar heads are behind some trim pieces. The radar heads can see clearly as long as there isn't any metal in front of them (i.e. they have to be behind a plastic bumper, not metal). The radar heads are not as sensitive as I remember them so they might be partially eclipsed by metal. As a result, I may move them around a bit but more testing will be required.

Regarding powering the ALP, I know they took a constant power source from the trailer power (the circuit that powers trailer lights) and then used another circuit for the switch wire of the relay but I'm not sure which circuit it was. They intended on using the rear view mirror power (since it's unused) but it turns out that Tesla changed that one to be always on via a software update so they had to go to Plan B.

I was happy with this since the truck should already be expecting a variable load from the trailer lights and the other circuit is just used to trigger the relay. My ALP system turns ON and OFF with the center screen.

Here are some pics of the inside and the outside.

Let me know your thoughts! Also happy to answer questions if you have any!

Nice. And thanks. The installer here uses the power at hitch too. They were looking at similar placements for the alp and suggested an extra front and rear (3 each 6 total) as you have. The radar in front is to go behind that plastic lense that runs between headlights which I didn't realize was even there till they showed an example install they did. Estimate was about 2k for install with the control going to the mirror, but I like what you've got there. Equipment obviously extra..

Recently had custom Radenso RC M radar detector / ALP laser jammers installed by Automods in Sarasota, FL on our truck. Entirely stealth, no visible jammers and the display was built into the upper console deleting the worthless rearview mirror. Amazing work. Ours was the first which was used for modeling install locations for others in the future.

You can see the video here:

have you gotten this tested? If so, how did it perform?

Great Q. The video shows it all. They tested against dragon eye and other guns. No penetrations front or back. But they played with placement for a while. Ours was the first Cybertruck they've done (they do a lot of Ferrari's, etc) and they said it was a bit of a pain because of the massive surface but they were able to come up with a placement that got 100% coverage. Had to be in the slot above the bumper, below the frunk. Bumper placement, especially where the cooling intake is across the center doesn't give 100% coverage.

Absolutely. And the display location turned out great. Originally they were going to put in dash, but I suggested placing in the location of the mirror. Had to sign a document that it was my request as technically by DOT rules you are supposed to have a physical mirror (why I believe Tesla slapped the cheap one on there in the first place). Display / controller attached.

BTW... @Thejm great job on your install. Our install wasn't cheap. You definitely got great value for the money. I definitely paid Ferrari prices. They had 100+ hours into our job with all the scanning, CAD work, 3D printing, etc. They knocked a big chunk of the hours off the final bill as well since ours was used as a prototype / tester.

You mention they made you sign a waver. A suggestion for them as they give you a removable cybertruck badged plate cover anyway. Make one that is slightly larger and has a mirror film on it, technically a 'rear mirror' then. 2¢
