Saw a CT in the wild at Coachella. Got to talk to the driver, who is an engineer for Tesla working on the “internals” team, specifically for the charging system and algorithms (which she says they’re improving!).

I noticed what appears to be the integrated light bar, albeit taped over in black tape so as to not reveal that it’s actually the light bar.

As one post described from Franz’s truck, it looks super integrated. Not quite like the original prototype, but quite nice nonetheless. Thought I’d share a closeup video for y'all.

Does anyone know if the lightbar is included with FS series? I believe not, right?

Super excited as my son and I are flying to Austin today to pick my up tomorrow!! (We live in CA but I own a business in TX, so buying it there and driving it back). So apparently deliveries have resumed after the accelerator issue. For those who are still waiting, it’s gonna happen! About 72 days from Order to VIN, then only about 3 days still I had my delivery date! ?

Here’s the video:

thanks for sharing. interesting to see the shape but ... a bit disappointed to see the protrusion.. I hope some OEM can do better... why so thick & bumpy... doesn't look like the future :)

Its included for Cyberbeast Foundation Series but not the Dual Motor configurations.

Thank you for sharing! I'm personally less interested in how it looks if it happens to function as well as Franz and Lars claimed it would.

Light bar is included with the FS Cyberbeast only but I'm not sure about installation is included or not. I'll ask CS when I go there today.

Update: Just came back from SC, my Cyberbeast is @ the outbound lot awaiting transport, may arrive at the end of this week. The lightbars are on backorder, they will be installed @ SC free of charge. ?

That's not integrated like Franz's. This is a stick on with 3M tape.

Franz's was built into the a-pillar/top of window trim as 1 piece (or it's the same as this, but his wrap went over the gaps so it was hard to see).

Anyway, thanks for showing this off. It does look better than before since they made some color changes to help blending it in.

Great video, thanks!

Also, if anyone wants my light bar when they deliver it, come get it, free.

Looks cheap and ugly if that's the final version. Hopefully not.

Keep it until you find a suitable aftermarket alternative…..Tesla store will probably sell them for around 600 $.

If it looks like that I won't have it on my CT.

The one on the concept truck looked awesome ... wish they could have pulled that off ...

Note the dirt and debris ... translation: range hit ...

Edit: I'd even be okay with that look if it was a high quality part.

Install is included. Should have shipped on the truck but delay causes post install by service, on their dime!

Compare to the one I posted which looks like production version, I'm guessing that black piece that blocks it MIGHT be required by DOT to include the light bar, and you can remove it yourself and risk a fix it ticket like every other truck with a big light bar without covers. Might be causing the production delay as well, trying to figure how to integrate a plastic cover that's still aerodynamic and doesn't whistle since it's RIGHT above your ears. Agree, looks kinda funky with that plastic piece.

The range hit is negligible for such a low profile part and they should be able to improve range with software much more than what you will lose here. I have driven with a ski box and bikes that stick up above the roofline in my Rivians and even that was manageable range loss (<10%).

Uncovered light bars are illegal in most states but if they are covered they are completely ok to have installed and drive with everywhere in the US.

This cover must be their solution and it’s the cover that is making it look weird/ugly to most people in this thread as it’s protruding out and is making it appear beefier and less integrated-looking than previously seen.
