Shameless FUD generation. There isn’t even an option to say, “I reserved and then took delivery of my truck.”

This is not FUD. Nor, did I say it was. This will be used to generate FUD. This will create statistics that support FUD “generation.”

One could also say, If Tesla published with proof the real numbers (around 2million reservations) it would eliminate all FUD.

so I guess we live in a FUDie world..

Vin numbers combined with open orders should tell you the conversation rate of reservations.

e:

tesla opening up low apr financing for dropping sales on other models should tell you that they expect a drop in sales for the quarter.

…we have a clairvoyant
Understanding how things work is being clairvoyant now? I wasn’t aware that you had to be The Amazing Kreskin or Mark Twain to figure out how fucking skewed polls work and why they’re created.

But, I guess we live in a really stupid world so, sure. ??‍♂

Elecktrek use to be my main source of info when I got my first EV (BMW i3) but Fred has come down with Tesla/Elon derangement syndrome. Now, I ignore him.
Same. When my wife got her first Nissan Leaf.

You don’t craft a poll that pre-determines the answer you want unless you plan to use it later to support a biased argument. Which is what Mark Twain was saying in the quote that I paraphrased for the title of this post.

There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics.” - Mark Twain

This shit works because we’ve got some really … I’ll use the word, “basic” people creeping around this planet these days who are easily and happily misled or just generally slow on the uptake. Looking directly at you Carmen Electra.

Mark Twain never had to explain the joke to his audience in the late 1800s. We’re devolving, rapidly.

In the world created by this poll, you either canceled your reservation (for any of various reasons) or still have it! There is no option to say I converted my reservation and I’m happy with it. Every option possible other than: “I have my truck.”

Lord, I learned about these stupid tricks decades ago in basic statistics/tests & measures - 101 level classes (and generally understood them long before that). You can literally get any answer you want by how you frame the question.

“80% of people in our survey believe that grass is blue.” - FUD News

Sure, because in your poll you only gave them the answer options of red, white or blue! ?

The poll is about canceling reservations not who bought one.

The first option for the poll which is supposed to be about “canceling reservations” as you put it is:

“I never had a reservation.”

?

The actual form of the question is:

*If you had a Cybertruck reservation* why did you cancel it?

If you had a wife, when did you stop beating her?

The latter is a classic example of a “loaded question.” The former is the exact same. It’s really not debatable.

Being egregiously generous, which means you would have to ignore Electrek’s history over the last several years, which would be dumb … but, OK … let’s be dumb …

If you squint and look at it sideways you could say that the reason that they allowed “I never had a reservation” as an answer to the question which is only supposed to apply to ppl who had a reservation is to clean up the data.

But that would be contrary to all meaningful information that you could glean from the site and how they do things when it comes to Tesla, lately. As was mentioned above.

But I’ll say again, I’m not here to save anyone I’m just making observations. People are free to be as dense as they like. ?

So, please feel free to add your apologist nonsense as you see fit.
