Nice! Not a big deal…..but damn this whole thing is irritating lol for someone who spent 120K+ BUT “you still gotta take some shit apart and connect some wires.” Imagine any other luxury car dealer at that price point telling you to do that, lol….doesn’t happen!
Its doubtful legacy car makers would even sell such a light. Or if they did make it available the cost would be astronomical like $5k or something crazy. The lightbar looks to be low profile. But I want to see the hit to highway speed range.

Well, after getting delayed a second time because they didn’t include all of the pads that go between the light bar and the windshield, my light bar finally got installed. I wanted to post some pictures here of the customer portion of the install which I simply did in the parking lot of Tesla before I left. The access to plug in the light bar is in the side pillar on the passenger side between the front and rear door. There’s a small access panel as pictured. Once the access panel is removed, unbolt the 10 mm bolt and then gently pull up and out on the bottom of the pillar. Underneath, you will find a wire secured with a small zip tie. Mine was green in color. Cut the zip tie. The plug simply plugs in to the female end contained in the shell behind the pillar. The user interface on my truck was changed automatically when I got in the truck and it allows me to power on the ditch lights, the main bar and both without being in off road mode. See attached.

looks great, thanks for the post, I always thought it was one connection at the roof, didn't know anything about this connection on the side pillar so appreciate this.

Thank you!!! My Beast was in today getting wheel covers and the light bar and I was able to show this to the folks at the SC. It just makes so much more sense then having customers solder, shrink-wrap etc the wires on top.

Furthermore if one actually follows the latest service bulletin CD-24-90-001 R2 issued Oct 18 (one day after the light bar service bulletin) it details how the third party or customer connection is made (just as you have done above)

Apologies here is the link for the above referenced bulletin. These are the official instructions for third party/customer hookup...

I heard the range hit was about 10%. Has anyone seen that and can confirm. I already have a 10% hit from the tires and cannot take another one. Might end up selling my light bar....
Where did this figure come from? Seems like an arbitrary rounded number.

The all terrain. But I misunderstood I just looked it up and they give a 20 mile hit (from 320 to 300) not from 300 to 270. My mistake they give about 7% hit.

I just picked up my Lightbar and told them not to install it to see if I can have a local off-road fabricator figure out a non permanent mount solution. That said, what are the “pads” you speak of? And what are they purpose? I don’t see them in the box I have…

Also, I see the B Pillar instructions but where did the SC route the wire coming out from the Lightbar on the window?

Yeah, I don’t think there’s any pads. It’s very clear to me that mine was just glued onto the glass pads would be in the way of that process.

Too dark to take a photo, but I will when the sun comes up but in trying to describe it: on my installation there’s just a tiny little quarter inch or so section where the wire just runs right over the top of the roof and then down under the appliqué. If that helps, picture to follow.

Also, to @jimbobb23 who had someone tell him that there’s a 10% hit to efficiency, I can tell you right now (after at least 1000 miles with these on) that’s crazy talk! I haven’t noticed any appreciable change. That’s not to say that it’s zero but it’s not appreciable (to me).

Got it thanks for the explanation. No need for the photo as that’s the way I have seen the wire from the Lightbar run on other photos but just wanted to know what of anything changed from when they originally were just wiring it from the wires housed under the crossbar attachment in the appliqué.

Can you adjust the brightness on the Lightbar? I know that is supposed to be a function but curious if it is available at this time. Thanks!

Yes. And the UI for doing that is identical as the implementation for the lightstrip inside the truck. In fact, it sits on the screen just above or below it (I don’t remember which), under the lights menu.
