I have been waiting for this day to sit in a Cybertruck and press that pedal to experience what it is really. Fortunately Dublin CA center opened up CT for demo drives. Thanks to another forum member for notifying us. CT demos are available now in several SCs. Folks at Dublin center were super awesome.

Some background on my driving habits - I enjoy driving/riding fast vehicles. I’m very sensitive to all the subtle things that happen while driving. I’m one of those people who others think I’m hearing voices in my head for some rattling noise that nobody hears, but when they open the system for the third time, they will find the loose screw. True story ?. I’m very attuned to how the vehicle performs and operates, and I have a high bar on how the vehicle should drive. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with other Teslas (3, X, and Y) in terms of how they drive. They are good, but it’s not out of ordinary.

Though I knew CT drives really well, I can’t put it in words on what it feels like when you drive this thing for real. It’s like sitting in a military Tank that drives like a sports car. This is a very unnatural combo.

The sheer size, acceleration, cornering experience, feedback from the steering wheel, center of gravity, and all the physics/aero dynamics, are just out of the world and perfectly tuned for optimal driving experience. It doesn’t budge when there are heavy winds. Suspension is at the perfect sweet spot. Road noise is very low. I didn’t get to try the audio system. Rear view camera was not a problem for me. Indicators took few mins to get used to. After the test drive, when I jumped back into my Porsche, I felt like I was riding an old horse! lol ?. No disrespect to Porsche, but steer by wire is the big secret sauce IMO. If not for this one element, I don’t think Cybertruck driving experience would have been this amazing.

Even the psychological feeling is different. It’s like an untamed machine that just wants to mind its business and doesn’t want to pickup a fight, but all hell will break loose if you mess with it (not hinting at road rage by any means ?). It’s so powerful and strong yet very sophisticated. It doesn’t command anything but still knows it’s better than 99% of the vehicles around it. It’s like the Hulk - he doesn’t care about fighting because he knows he will win. You kinda get that feeling when you are driving a 6000 lbs bullet resistant massive truck with incredible torque, but it can turn on a dime. Probably that’s why people show so much middle finger. They are just intimidated ?.

Yes price is double of what we expected, wait is 5x longer, but man once you drive this thing, all those negative feelings will go into an oblivion. It’s a blissful state. Hard to explain without experiencing it. If you are someone who really enjoys driving experience, Cybertruck will absolutely not let you down!

After test driving this thing, I have nothing but great respect for people behind the screens who built this magnificent machine. I hope the innovation continues and Cybertruck gets better! I’m happy for all those who have FS models. I can’t wait to get my non FS soon. Cheers!
So very well put Sir. As a CT owner for last 5 months i can say you are so right. And i dont get it but driving it never gets old. Its always like the first time.

How do you like it?
It's awesome! I absolutely love driving it. I have my son's car seat behind the passenger, and he loves walking across the back to get to his seat because I keep the 3/4 side of the back seat folded up. There is a ton of extra room to move around back there. He doesnt want to ride in anything else. Also, my wife wants me to take her everywhere in it (grocery store, restaurants, errands, etc. ?. I'm happy that the whole family is enjoying it.

The only downside (besides the rearview mirror) is all the extra attention. I don't mind it, and have had great conversations with people about the truck and electric vehicles in general. But some people get too close and careless on the road. That part is not safe.

Funny story. I went to the Post office to drop off a package and by the time I came out half the employees and customers were outside at the truck. They were upset that I came back because everyone wanted pictures and videos. I let them get as many as I could but I had an appointment. They all stood and watched as the truck pulled off.

Thanks for asking.

That's great. I had a Post Office experience yesterday. I parked next to the Post Office and dropped the tailgate to remove a large box. As I was closing the tailgate I noticed a mid-50's couple about 30 feet away. They had a view into the bed of the Cybertruck and the guys jaw was just hanging there in disbelief (as if he had no idea the Cybertruck had a large truck bed under that tonneau cover).

The fact that the backseat has a large enough floor area that is flat for kids to walk around is awesome. My kids do the same thing.

I keep both my backseats folded up when I don't have rear-seat passengers, which makes for a large, open area behind the front seats. It's surprising how big it is. My Sentry Mode videos tell me curious people are more interested in that large open back area than they are the front seats because they go to great lengths cupping their hands around their face to block reflections of the tinted glass and taking in the rear area view.

With the tinted glass roof, it creates a nice, big space that feels open and uncluttered.

Nice! Do you have any new Cybertruck thoughts or experiences to share now that you've had plenty of time with it?

Ditto. Especially the part about people walking up to my CT CB, cupping their hands to peer into the windows to try to see what they can. My additional tinting is dark (I also tinted the glass roof and have the screen from Tesla), so it is difficult for them to really see anything. They ALWAYS apologize as I am walking up to unlock (noise), and get in and I say "don't worry" and if I have a few mins, I show them the inside.

Yep! Only the brain dead will look at the exterior, make assumptions, and then shit all over the Cybertruck!

Meanwhile, those of us owners understand the sheer amount of technology that will push the industry forward enjoy the ride with shit eating grins and big smiles!

The Cybertruck is a Truck that identifies as a Sports Sedan!

^^ Yes, exactly this ^^

To be clear, it's not exactly a true sports sedan, but compared to any other truck it kind of is. And I do think that's the most underappreciated feature by those who haven't driven one. It doesn't drive like any other truck with the same payload or towing capacity. Or any other truck really.

I find it really frees the mind in an empowering manner when doing anything that requires maneuvering the truck in a tight space. It's just so easy, once you know where both bumpers are. The cameras make learning that easy.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm super happy with it. I just got my seat covers and going to install them. I took it off of Chill mode and the DM CT is quick! It's crazy how It just leaves the other cars behind when I'm merging onto the highway. It is fun to drive or let it drive itself. The FSD speed profile needs a little work but I'm ok with it and the phantom drain while plugged in...baby steps.

It's interesting to see some of the people that were anti CT now starting to come around to it. Almost everyone I speak with love the truck in a Black wrap. Only 1 person was truly against it and all other EVs.
