Or to actually keep the systems alive. Inverter losses for that are not insignificant.Interesting. Maybe it’s staying awake trying to resuscitate the 12v with the high voltage battery.
The 12V battery went out. That might be why it isn’t holding range like it has in the past….
When the 12v battery started going out in my ‘20 M3P, the car kept the HV battery connected to make sure the 12v system didn’t lose power. So yea, if the system has detected the 12v battery is going bad, it won’t disconnect the HV battery which would increase idle consumption.Interesting. Maybe it’s staying awake trying to resuscitate the 12v with the high voltage battery.
You could use a gig service like Thumbtack or handyman service to get this done for you.We just got an alert that our model Y is down to 14 miles of range. We have been out of town for two months. I will pay a CT Owner $50 an hour to take a mobile charger and give our model Y 2 hours of charge. Please send me a message if you are willing to help. The car is near the Tucson airport. I’m usually really good about turning sentry mode off when we leave town, and the car usually doesn’t lose much range, so I don’t know what has happened.
Thanks!
The Special Needs community in Scottsdale thanks you for your generous gift, Rick. This group of people inspires me to be the person that my German Shepherd thinks I am.I was one of the first Tesla owners in Utah with an early model S in 2013. I have met a lot of amazing people over the last 12 years. But I don’t know that I have ever met someone as awesome as Jay. He drove down from Scottsdale to help me and diagnosed the 12 V problem. He left his mobile connector so that my car can trickle charge. He doesn't want compensation for his trouble, but a donation to the city of Scottsdale Adaptive Recreation/Special Olympics Bobcat team. I am so grateful and speechless. Tesla owners are the best.![]()
