Yeah I was surprised to see that honestly, no autopilot standard just TACC. Trying to force people to FSD?
More like, trying to spend the development time on FSD rather than something they see as obsolete but yes, it kind of does force people to some extent.

Decided on ordering a Cybertruck after numerous test drives. However availability for the order page now shows 8-10 weeks. Looking at purchasing with the 2.49% finance rate (not buying FSD or an inventory truck).

What are the thoughts on end of quarter specials in the month of September? Or is it better to order now for the 2.49%? Not qualified for the $7500 tax credit so that doesn’t matter much anyway. Tesla sales rep couldn’t give a straight answer if the 2.49% applies to the order date or actual delivery date, which would be well beyond September if 8-10 weeks holds true.
I believe if you lease the truck then buy out the lease you could save the $7500, at least that was the consensus before the AWD qualified. So might be worth looking into.

Things may have changed since I got mine in December.

Yes that's an option but then no financing specials with that method. Would have to buy out in cash or finance elsewhere for 4-7%.

keep an eye out for pricing specials. I agree that 0% APR and FSD is a no brainer. remember though, whenever you pull the trigger, just stop looking at the prices and price deals. tesla pricing is notoriously volatile, and theyre strict on time windows

Ended up placing an order for a dual motor AWD cybertruck with FSD to get the 0% financing. Everything is all set for delivery but now having cold feet.

Anyone regret getting their cybertruck? Financially it's not a major concern, easily doable with current income. I want something that I can keep for at least 5 years and have no/minimal issues. I just worry about the depreciation hit (which shouldn't matter if planning on keeping 5+ years) as well as durability (mainly body panel adhesion issues).

Think you’re in good shape. Can’t think of a better car for medium to long term.
This is obviously biased but if you ask me, you “bought the dip” and have nothing to worry about.

With Tesla, there's no obvious rhyme or reason to their discounts and 'sales events' - they just happen and if you're lucky, congrats. The only thing that you can bank on is that at the end of whatever quarter we're in, they'll have SOMETHING. Who knows what, but something.

Good luck!

Typed this to see your post about ordering! Congrats

Interesting….
I saw that and saw they raised the lease prices across the board, as I originally considered leasing a cybertruck.

But Tesla offered above market value for my ICE trade in, and got approved for the 0% financing with no additional down payment (had positive equity transfer from ICE trade).

Is the body panel adhesion issue not really as big of a deal as it seems? I know the 4yr/50k mile warranty will cover it, but just want to see what the real world experience with it is like.

For reference I ordered an inventory vehicle too, so 1 year free supercharging and 1 year premium connectivity. it's a 77xxx VIN built 6/25.

Interesting….
They said during the earnings call that with the tariffs supplies will be in short order and for everyone to order in Q3, but they've said that before (last year) and when the end of the Quarter came, they offered discounts.

AI said…

“Tesla is indeed updating the structural adhesive used in the Cybertruck, specifically for attaching the stainless steel trim panels (cant rails) above the doors. This recall affects a large number of Cybertrucks produced between November 2023 and late February 2025. The original adhesive was found to be susceptible to environmental factors, potentially leading to panel detachment while driving. The updated adhesive, along with a welded stud and nut for added reinforcement, aims to prevent this issue.”

I have personally not experienced a single issue with the adhesive. Now on my second Cybertruck. That is all I can say factually. To me, the rest is noise.

I’m in a similar situation. Just placed my order on Friday! I will miss my F-150 lightning but the Cybertruck finally hit the sweet spot with 0% apr, free FSD transfer, the $7,500 tax credit, $1000 military discount, and $1000 loyalty discount.

What’s your delivery timeframe? Mine was 8 to 10 weeks when I ordered, but the website now shows 3 to 5 weeks if I were to order today.
