New Mexico - dropped by new Service Center in ABQ/Bernalillo area

Just sharing for general knowledge - I dropped by the brand new Tesla Service Center in the Albuquerque area (in Bernalillo which is just north of ABQ). The hostess informed me they have not had any deliveries yet (but would love to). She thought she recognized my name from conversations with a manager who was looped in on local CT reservations/orders. I asked about changing delivery locations but she was unable to assist and that’s fine, it can wait. I think the last time I looked a few weeks ago, there were about three of us with CT orders in ABQ, and two people in Santa FE (one had two orders for a total of three CT units). NM order numbers might be a bit higher now. She did seem to think/know deliveries had occurred in AZ, NV, CO (after I mentioned CA, TX, and UT). Of course, NC and other States are starting to make the delivery list (yay). Sorry that this trip was not more fruitful but I am looking forward to meeting my NM Cyber-brothers once we all have our trucks! ?

Yeah... I'm in CO... Durango to be exact and I wanted my pickup to be in ABQ since its a 3 hour drive from me. Tesla said "No way Jose". They said they can't allow a CO purchaser to pickup in NM. I asked why and they said something about dealer licensing or something to that effect.

Wow. The Bernalillo, NM hostess did mention car registration so maybe they cannot execute a CO registration or something?

Interesting, Daerik from youtube (Tesla Inventory) just picked up his truck in California and drove it back to Colorado.

Its based on certain states. They said I can get it from TX or CA if I wanted but they were adamant that I can't do it from NM. I found this a shame because ABQ is the closest to me.

I'm not from NM but does this have to do with New Mexico Statutes, Section 57-16-5-V ?

It is unlawful for a manufacturer, distributor or representative to:​

A. coerce or attempt to coerce a dealer to order or accept delivery of a motor vehicle, appliances, equipment, parts or accessories therefor or any other commodity that the motor vehicle dealer has not voluntarily ordered;​

This is why Tesla seems to place these on Tribal land to get around the law, however I think once it crosses state lines, the State's law may get involved. IANAL, but I think this is why they refused to do it.

They def had some black market shenanigans going on. I'm guessing they bought someone's Tesla account that had a FS invite.

Either that or they got the super hookup from Tesla.

i mean he is an influencer and has been buying teslas for a while, when model 3 came out he had lots of inside info so i wouldnt be suprised if he had a connection that fasttracked him for those reasons.
i bet he didnt buy an account

I remember the inside info. It was from the parts catalog lol but he is def a smaller influencer. Doesn't make it impossible though. He did give an ominous shout-out in the video lol
