No HOA's in these old neighnorhoods, that was a major factor for me when I bought the place. The problem is you can see how my Yukon almost hangs out over the sidewalk already. It's 20'-0" from the face of the garage door to the sidewalk and the Pebble Flow is 25 feet long, so it would obstruct the entire sidewalk which would not only annoy all of my neighbors but would also probably raise a problem with the city

yea, not sure how it will work, but for $500 refundable ill bite... i really curious how the propulsion assist will increase CT range.. Should be interesting content once they start delivering. lightship is more expensive and i like the look of pebble i think more.

The intent is that the trailer will recognize forward pressure on the hitch and add power to it's wheels. That would reduce the power that the towing vehicle needs to pull it.

But what happens when towing longer distances? How much range does the trailer have? In the picture, they show a CCS connector, does that mean that I have to stop and charge my trailer and then my vehicle. What if it was a NACS connector, drop the trailer and then drive both up to Supercharger stalls?

It's got a LOT of potential, let's see how much potential and reality fights with each other. We've seen some of that type of fight with the Cybertruck. You can't get everything you want.

I would be surprised if they don't change it to a NACS Tesla connector by the time it's released. I mean, even the third-party fast charging networks said they were going to be providing NACS charging on their chargers. CCS is starting a long, slow death in North America.

I wouldn't be surprised either, but it still begs the question about double charging. Dropping most boat trailers is easy enough. Dropping a camper with a load leveling hitch is a lot more work.

this trailer dosnt need load leveling hitch if i remember them correctly. and its remote control so it should be pretty easy comparatively.

Hitch weight should be 10% of trailer weight.
Load leveling (aka weight distribution) hitches are suggested when trailer is greater than 50% of the vehicle weight.

Pebble Gross Vehicle Weight (GVWR): 6,200 lbs (fully loaded with gear)

So I'm not sure how they can get away without it.

i think it relates to the fact the pebble is self-propelled so the numbers arent the same as a trailer that is just being pulled. ill see if i can find where they mentioned it unless i am wrong.

It's not self-propelled at speed, it's an OPTION to have propulsion augmentation when at speed.
The self-propelled feature is only at very slow speeds.

The weights used in the calculations, I don't believe, have anything to do if the trailer has speed augmentation. It's more of a control issue for the tow vehicle.
EVERY trailer ever built has the ability to present 0 lb weight on the hitch, but it's not done because the tow vehicle is designed to be responsive with only it's on weight. When you add 6,000 lbs behind it, the tow vehicle needs more weight on the ground to provide better traction/control.

One of the big issues when towing is when a large vehicle (aka semi) passes the trailer and created a significant vacuum that pulls the rear of the trailer toward the truck. The tow vehicle needs enough power on the ground to overcome it.

When I worked for a trailer company, someone in a small Jeep wanted to haul a 28 ft trailer. When sales told them that the vehicle wasn't big enough, the Jeep owner replied that his engine was easily big enough. But sales then informed the Jeep owner that it wasn't the engine, it was the wheelbase of the Jeep.

Put a Jeep in front of a 28ft camper going down the Interstate and a semi passes, well, the trailer will wag that Jeep just like a fly swatter.

i havent seen the tow assist only worked at low speeds did you see that somewhere?

The tow assist works at higher speeds, it's the self-propelled or "can control through the app" that only works at low, creeping speeds.
