Pins Under All Weather Mats

Sorry if this isn’t the right thread but I found this pins in the photo attached under my driver side floor mats. I can’t make out where they go and the closest I can see is the steering wheel. Does anyone know what these are/if they are needed?

I found about 8 of those a few months ago when I was putting my carpets in for the summer. I showed them to mobile service when they were at my house and he had no idea why they would be there.

Depending on size, they are used to hold carpet down. May be extras from factory.
