New member, first post and hopeful to get some guidance or direction based on what’s been going on.

For reference, I drive a 2024 Cybertruck (vin # 003358) built in 03/24 and it currently has 43,294 miles.

Wednesday, October 15th I was driving from Bend, Oregon (home) to the SF Bay Area (work). During the first leg to my first supercharger, I felt the throttle stuttering / vehicle losing power while cruising between 66-72 mph. I was not in FSD or cruise control. The only way to describe the feeling would be as if you were driving on ice and the vehicle is trying to get traction.

I made it to the supercharger (3:30am) and immediately asked Grok if this was common or had been reported. Grok said to head back to Bend and get it into service for a Rear Inverter replacement which was part of a recall, so that’s what I did. Service Center did some diagnostics and said it was the Rear Drive Unit that “failed” and not the Inverter.

So I leave the truck with them and they replace the drive unit and say the problem has been resolved and even confirmed via a test drive.

Yesterday, Monday, October 20th I leave Bend again with the intention of getting to the Bay Area. Again, the same stuttering / power loss was experienced. I continued on my trip after charging (I needed to go to work) and called the service center when I got to my second stop and they were open. I was also able to determine that the stutter / power loss only occurs while the truck is preconditioning the battery for supercharging.

Service center ran their tests and said there wasn’t any issues or concerns. They also said they “sent the ticket to the higher ups” whatever that means…

I went into the service mode and found the following alert: PCS2_a127_cycloAgdpsHealthCheckFailed which has been going on since October 12th and still happening.

Long of the short, what am I missing and what should I do? Tesla is saying not to worry about it but I’m 6,706 miles from the warranty going away so yes, I am worried about it.

Sorry for the long explanation, don’t know how else to explain it. Hopeful for some guidance, suggestions or tips from someone else who might have experienced this. If anyone needs to see pictures of anything I’d be happy to provide.

Thank you!!!

Maybe you can ask Grok what that alert code in the service mode that came up means?
Or talk to Tesla Service and ask them what that alert code means?

My truck started doing this very noticeably today It might have happened before but I thought it was the bad roads out west but I think it has to do with the recent update as it never did it before.

I just experienced what you are saying on my trip from St. Louis to North Carolina. My cybertruck awd is within 300 of your current vin. Driving to the golf course after charging this morning and from 5 mph to 20mph the truck starts shaking.

the shaking goes away after you increase a lot of power. At the next red light it did it again. This time I noticed that the black power bar is jumping about 1 mm up and down probably 100 times per second. Indicated to me it’s some type of power controller issue. Problem hasn’t happened today and the truck isn’t throwing any codes. Gonna bring it into service next week when I get back home.

Mine is doing the same thing I bet it has to do with the latest update.

OP I had the same thing happen to me yesterday (10/26) driving back to the bay from Yosemite, with the same symptoms you mentioned. Here is what I observed:

- Latest Software version - 2025.38.3.2
- Was preconditioning for next super charger.
- Happened during FSD (@ a steady 60mph going up hill) and non-FSD (going up hill @55mph). Felt similar to clogged/dirty fuel filter in ICE terminology.
- Another point is: I had just come down "old priest grade" with continuous regen all the way down
- This only happened in a span of 10mins max, didn't happened afterwards as I was babying the throttle.

- I asked Grok immediately and it mentioned faulty drive inverter recall which my truck qualifies for (pre 7/30/24 models), but this was never fixed by Tesla nor does it show up on recall sites based on VIN.

I've booked a service appointment highlighting the exact times the issue popped up, let's see. Love this truck, 18k miles and 0 issues so far.

Thank you for the feedback, I hope you can get some answers out of your service appointment and I look forward to hearing what they have to say.

It happened to me again this morning and it was much worse than before. I was able to take a video of the throttle bar spiking on its own. 100% it’s something I cannot duplicate with my foot on the go pedal.

My appointment is still 2 weeks out, but I haven't gotten those symptoms again. Granted I haven't done any long trips yet.

I'm curious, did the problem come up again during pre-conditioning?

I also just experienced this for the first time two days ago. I left home on a 3 hour trip at 100% SOC with a Supercharger as my destination approximately 2 1/2 hours away. The battery was warm as charging just completed prior to my departure. Preconditioning for the SC began when I was approximately 1 hour away from the SC. I did not experience any of these symptoms at this time. The next day, I went to return home with 55% SOC and the truck had been sitting for a few hours so it had a relatively cool battery. I had the same SC set as my destination which was 20 minutes away. The truck immediately began preconditioning. I went up and down a few relatively steep hills and still no issues. When I began climbing a long, steep-grade hill, the truck exhibited these exact symptoms. It felt like I had a really strong head-wind that was randomly hitting the truck but in reality, there was minimal wind. I made it to the SC, charged to 80% SOC and then powered off the vehicle (selected power off from the screen, waited 3 minutes, and then pressed the brake pedal). I continued on my trip and did not experience any other issues on my 2 1/2 hour trip home.

I scheduled service after returning home but my appointment is a month out. I checked user notifications and also service notifications and nothing related to these symptoms showed as active or past.

I have supercharged a handful of times in the past, and have never experienced this. My concern is that this issue will not be repeatable as it certainly seems to be related to steep grades and did not present itself at the beginning of my trip while preconditioning.
