Lets hope most of this ends when Elon steps down from his DOGE duties at the Whitehouse soon.
That is my hope. Less news coverage of Elon, less clickbait articles, less knee-jerk reactions, and less cybertruck attention.

I love the vehicle, I just wish I had a cloaking device that let me see it for how it is and everyone else see a Toyota Tacoma or an F150.

People who have owned a CT have gone through two major phases.
#1 The OMG WHAT IS THAT THING LET ME FOLLOW YOU TO THE GROCERY STORE AND ASK YOU 40 questions. That phase was tiring, but understandable
#2 Where we are right now with the salutes and you are #1 gestures. Which is more difficult to deal with, especially when it comes to people physically touching your property.

Hopefully in 60mo there will be another 40,000 CTs on the road, and less attention on Elon and the CT. I am ready to just be able to drive and enjoy it.

This is the current thread you are looking for, LoL.
Lots of peoples reactions.
Remember if you get double flipped off by another Tesla its a friendly flip off, acknowledging you both have FSD and have the ability to casually double flip each other off (running joke in the below thread).

Unfortunately right now the cybertruck is very polarizing both positively and negatively. KEEP SENTRY MODE ON ALL THE TIME!

Love the meme. Accurate.

It's not worth the energy to engage with people who get upset at the site of a vehicle... Maybe they think Elon IS the truck, maybe nautical protractors haunt their dreams and so they just hate triangles, who knows what their stupid beef is. I feel like it was worst in the beginning, and now that people in my area are used to seeing them, maybe they've grown weary of being twits? Maybe? We can only hope. Also, after comparing notes with my wife, I think women driving a Cybertruck get more negativity. She believes people are less threatened by her.

Most of the bad behavior I get is from people who fall into a few of these categories:

1. White people? Pretty sure every case of mine has been a white person. I'm white, for the record. White people cray. Does this track with y'all? Or is it more diverse than I'm seeing.
2. More than one person in the car, egging each other on? Emboldened?
3. Gas car.
4. +15 year old cars (almost never from drivers of new cars or nice cars)
5. Subaru + Cargobox or other attachments + outdoor adventure stickers = definite mid-finger, thumbs down, or crinkleface.
6. Driving in a direction that makes any sort of direct confrontation impossible. Like opposite direction, or turning at an intersection. Dingleberries love these spots.
7. Last minute cry-babies. They throw a finger right as you're passing, and you have no time to react.

you can enjoy it now. Why do you need someone else’s ’approval’ ?

I’ve had my
1f4d0.png
for over a week and I’ve been flipped off 4 times, I got a double bird yesterday. Each time it happens I just ignore them and laugh on the inside. I know things will normalize in time, just gotta let the crazies be cray cray

How's everyone else fairing?

I don't care what these people think, I only care about the positives. Like today I was at the barbers and two old guys (70s) were just geeking out about the truck. The barber asked about the crazies and I told him everyone has assholes, and I don't care of about them.

Then the two guys on their way out walked around the truck and were taking pictures so I went out and gave them a tour. Three strangers enjoying the truck/tech and just chatting about cars in general. Good times.

Tough to enjoy when you come out of a restaurant and someone has thrown a large sticky, I can only assume slushie onto the top of your glass and vault. Tough to enjoy when giving your friends kid a ride and someone pulls up next to you, rolls down their window, and flips you off.

The vehicle is amazing, but the recent negative attention has diminished the "enjoy" factor some.

I’ve been seeing considerably more positivity over the last couple of weeks. People asking me to trade, a guy in a Mustang giving me a major thumbs up today. It’s been pretty good!

I've had mines for about 6 months. Just got my first flip off the other day across a parking lot. I turned down the street where he could hear me, honked at him, called him a brokey and zoomed off with my bird in the air. If people want to act immature why can't we? ?

In my opinion, I hope Elon does not step down for this reason. You can't let yourself be controlled by crazy people.
