Tesla Q1 2023 beats expectations..... the funny thing now is that some so-called analysts are changing what they said a few days ago, claiming they missed expectations.

4 days ago - "The consensus among Wall Street analysts is that Tesla will deliver approximately 420,000 vehicles in Q1 2023." today the wall street group is saying that was 432000, therefore claiming a miss. Sheesh.

It's funny how the SEC went after Elon over one tweet, when Wall Street Analysts attempt to suppress the perceived value of TSLA almost every day. Anyone else see a problem with that???

Tesla sales again fall short of production

https://www.cnn.com/2023/04/02/investing/tesla-sales/index.html

But it does mean that over the last 12 months Tesla has produced 78,000 more cars than it has sold, suggesting that talk of strong demand by Tesla executives may not be backed up by the numbers.

and only 4% greater sales than last quarter.

And they missed the year over year target by 14%

Ohhh no what are we going to do!!!!!!!!!!

Never mind that the year over year target was a 50% increase in sales.

Edit: /sarcasm

They can spin all they want. Seems its softening, now this 'sales less than production', is a statement which passes the truth test. It will never really end.

Financials carry significant importance.

sales less than production is simply the lag between shipping and delivery.

Are you new to following the auto industry? Q4 is traditionally the strongest quarter of the year and Q1 is the weakest quarter by a large margin. The fact that Tesla grew sales from Q4 to Q1 in a faltering economy with rapidly rising car loan rates shows something special is going on with Tesla. It's pretty incredible actually, if you know anything about the typical auto sales in various quarters.

And they missed the year over year target by 14%

That's not correct. Tesla's official guidance is to grow sales 50% year over year, *on average*. Some years will be higher, some lower, it's the overall 50% *average* growth rate they have repeatedly guided for. Tesla is loath to play the short-term forcasting game and have repeatedly said that production and sales growth will not be a smooth line but will have periods of faster and slower growth making up the whole. If you know anything about compounding, 50% is stunning long-term growth.

Currentlly, Tesla is well above their 2020 50% growth guidance. They haven't missed anything unless you are a Tesla detractor, like most of the MSM, trying to throw shade on them.

Correct. It doesn't look like obvious sarcasm even after you suggested it was sarcasm. Sarcasm works best when the reader knows the person being sarcastic and I can't say I know you at all.

First quarter is rarely higher than fourth.

Global stock on hand is higher because more boats are involved.

They missed a target of increased production by... about how much time they had to take off for holidays.

So... seems like there's a tiny bit of context missing, yeah.
