what would you guys choose. this is going to be my daily driver and i am saving up to get the CT. but if the delay keeps getting thrown back a year i might have to get something else. my question to you guys is i will be using this as a daily driver. would you guys opt for a 911 if possible? i cant see myself getting back into a gas car after driving a tesla. no maintanence, no gas, performance, etc theres just no reason to drive a gas car anymore except for maybe the thrill of the engine noise. what are your thoughts? i have never owned a 911 but everyone always preaches they are amazing cars.

You're kinda comparing apples to oranges. If you think the 911 Carrera is a nice vehicle but want electric you should compare it to the Model S.

The Model S won't maneuver like a smaller car, so... even then they're not really comparible. It'll easily keep up, even on the track, of course, but it's much bigger, too.

Agreed. No comparison between a truck and a sports car.
911 are great, I just sold mine and I weirdly don’t really miss it.
The M3 Performance is much faster and fun enough to drive (no engine noise but let’s be honest the flat 6 in the 911 is not all that).
As for truck… I happily drive my Raptor and I can confirm that there’s no similarities between a truck and a sports car, an EV and ICE.
If you want to have a 911 get it because you can afford it and like being seen in a sports car but don’t get it instead of the CT or any truck.

I wouldn't buy a performance ICE car for any reason right now. It's a bad investment. And I usually find that the lowest reason to consider a vehicle.

-Crissa
This is completely wrong in these unprecedented times.
These days you can buy any ICE car and resell it in the next few months for more money. These are very unusual times.
As for 911s, they rarely lose money and if OP is thinking about a used 997/996/993/964 then they’ll go up in value quite rapidly.

That's why it's a bad investment. Never buy at the peak.

Check out the M3P or S Plaid. They will probably fit the bill then.

I don’t disagree with that statement.
But there’s no peak in sight for sports cars at the moment. The move to EVs and COVID have driven people crazy and they think it’s their last chance to own the dream. It will last for a while.
Most people buy a 911 or other sports car for a little while and resell making a profit (even before this craziness). I wouldn’t say the same about other cars In normal time but right now everything is labeled unobtainium.

If you want the Carrera, consider the roadster. S Plaid is a good option, more interior room.

If you need to move refrigerator, CT.

If you want to pick up girls/guys, I am too out of the game to know what entices.

If you want reduced maintenance, not the Carrera.

If you like going to a track, unless dragging, maybe not the CT.

I'd rather have a vehicle that's resistant to the environment.

Sports cars don't even interest me anymore. I had a 700RWHP, 10.8 sec 1/4 mile monster that I sold about 6 years ago...

...I don't even miss it.
