Wild… seems like a software fix is needed
If it were a software issue, don't you think 100 owners would have chimed in by now and said "That happens to me too!"?

Like I said, it sounds like there is something different with you or your truck.

No, I don't have any coatings, I keep my windshield clean by using soap and water to wash it once every month or so, whenever I wash the truck. The Owner's Manual recommends against putting coatings on the windshield.

Happens to my truck too sometimes. Just had it in the rain last week, but more likely to happen with snow. 95% of storms it doesn't happen though.

Rain is usually not a problem- heavy rain with wind will give me alerts. But I have never had that many.

In the fall, windy and leaves will send a ton of alerts.

Anyone else notice that when it rains, especially at night that Sentry mode gets triggered like crazy for non events? Wish there was a way to stop this (hint hint to any Tesla engineers that might read this forum for ideas)

came out to this:

I have never seen this, but I also have sentry mode off at home, so the only place this could occur for me would be at work. 🤷‍♂️

I’m not sure how it can be fixed with software. The rain running in front of the camera simply triggers the motion part of Sentry mode. I say that not having any knowledge on what can be done in the code.

Idk, youd think the software could differentiate rain blurring its view from an actual safety or security event… or possibly that it could detect that the windshield camera is blurry from the rain and swipe the wiper… idk

Hmm, do you have any kind of coating on your windsheild? Rain seems to “stick” to mine and it really blurs out and streaks the camera, so it thinks any big movement is a sentry event on the windsheild
No. Tesla sait they coat them from the factory and to not use any type of RainX stuff on it as it'll become less effective. So, I do nothing. Maybe some Glass Plus on occasion.
