Rear Bolster Tear, replaced but same tear, same place ...

Anyone else have this? They replaced mine with a part that had the exact same tear in the exact same part.

(It's a new part, I filled the one from delivery with black sharpie so it wasn't obvious)

Is that a tear or a cut seam to conform to the backing that is showing through? When upholstering it is normal to make various cuts to allow the material to conform around sharp turns, but these cuts shouldn't be visible when done right. Just thinking out-loud here.

No, my seats do not have that.
