Did you find that it forced the Display lower at all? Well, I guess you can report back after you install it on the CT (after your printer finshes, of course ?). But how about on the Model Y?
The model y I feel it lowered it a smidge and brought it closer to you. The cybertruck I’m not sure but I’ll take before and after measurements

Which EV pickup truck is selling tons of Units? F150 has sold less than 2x the number Cybetrucks in 3x the time. They’ve also been marked down at dealers between 10 and 15k depending on trim.

The Sierra / Silverado platform is new and may end up selling better than all.

however, to date none have been high volume including Rivian.

no EV pickup is killing it
towing range FUD
think for this group of buyers, not us CT fans, the EREVs with 600-700 miles of range, 300-350 miles towing will be hot, but cost could play here with EREVs having two power sources, more complex and costly
we're in uncertain times overall for the vehicle buying market
seems the only EVs that will explode growth overall will be very cheap models Kia EV3 or 4, Tesla's next models and robotaxis coming into service
the new reality, paradigm change will be less overall vehicle ownership as robotaxis will be so cheap and easy to hail and use
new vehicle purchase categories:
cheapest - hail Robotaxi, cheap EVs
enthusiast - highlander, model y, cybertruck, Model S, X, Taycan, Macan, etc
trucks, work and tow - EREVs
feel cheap and robo will be the largest market over time

What also isn't hard is to put a $ sign in front of numbers that are supposed to represent currency.

1744814814383-6n.png

Also not hard, is to realize 2,400 units is not a large number, like at all.
It is a VERY large number considering that it is a new supposedly in-demand model that is identical in most respects, only one real variant. With NO takers for that inventory after months on the lot, it says that demand for the CT has essentially dried up - and that its sales targets and production capacity have zero chance of ever being met. It would be significant if 100 CTs sat for six months, much less a couple thousand. There are OBVIOUSLY no buyers for those trucks at the asking price - unlike most other Tesla models in its history, which sold immediately when produced, or on order before manufacturing. This could not be more indicative of the issues with CT demand. Fanbois gotta fanboi, but try to be a little real.

Why do people not take into account Tesla's early years and how close they were to not making it.

9AEL2CX.webp
The difference is that Tesla never sold a SINGLE vehicle with a negative gross margin. Not one. They have average high-20% margins since the start. Rivian, on the other hand, has never sold a single vehicle with a positive sales margin. They over-engineered a vehicle that costs $125k to make but sells for $75k. That cannot be overcome, full stop. Accounting losses are after R&D and G&A, etc. All startups have accounting losses - but not all sell products for less than production cost. Rivian cannot be fixed.

You and me are definitely not the same.

The CTs launched in the middle of a recession with record high inflation. How many other people have to post in this thread that no high-end EV trucks are selling well. None. Example posts immediately above:

Being a Fanboy of Tesla has been a pretty good bet since, well, they ever existed.

Haters and FUDers gotta hate and FUD. But try to be a littel real.

CT demand will pick up again just as soon as people feel like they can afford them again...and as they see them driving around, and talk to real world owners of them (us), with no paid advertisement, only word-of-mouth, just like every other Tesla model that has ever existed, including the World's best selling vehicle for the past two years: The amazing Model Y.

I am seeing many Youtube posts making the case for the Cybertruck being a total failure and even surpassing the Edsel as the worst new car failure ever.
I have a Foundation CT on order, awaiting recall repairs for the cantrail issue so I haven't received my CT yet.
I am growing concerned that maybe this purchase is a mistake. The FUD is working.
Also, I am thinking if I hold out a little longer, until the 1st quater earnings call, maybe there will be some serious additional incentives on the CT if Tesla really does need to start moving these trucks due to super low sales and all the issues with panels falling off, etc.
I would sure appreciate the community's feedback on this.
All I can say is I love my cybertruck!

i should’ve mentioned I couldn’t be happier to have bought a cyber beast. I have Hummer Edition 1 and a 24 Raptor. Cybertruck is my favorite.

Demand never picked up in the first place. I love my CT but recognize it will never attract main stream truck buyers. I am not a hater, have owned teslas since buying one in 2012, was a shareholder starting in 2008. It isn’t about what any other EV truck sales are doing. All of the competition has flaws. I had a Lightning, a complete disaster.

The CT was intended to take actual truck market share and was set up accordingly, with production capacity initially of 250k, with planned ramp up to 500k, with a factory building sized accordingly. It will never sell that many units in its entire production series much less every year.

So we have billions wasted on a flyer that did not work. Everyone makes mistakes. This one isn’t fatal but it is a huge let down. You fanbois may deny or obfuscate this, but the Tesla execs clearly see it as a mistake, including Elon. They are scrambling for a backup plan.

Because the CT plant was purpose built for both the large capacity and its unique design elements, it won’t be easy to redeploy the capacity to other models. But that is exactly what they will be doing because you cannot run a factory of that size efficiently at 20% of deigned throughput. Tesla already shut down the plant twice due to excess inventory build-up and we should expect more of this until they get it sorted out. CT sales are still declining since their peak, and the incoming stripper model won’t help due to lack of content and single drive. You cannot sell a $60k pickup in the US without four wheel drive and some luxuries that were thrown out of the de-contented model. It is a design exercise that will not sell at all, and is really intended to encourage upsell into the two motor model for $10-$20k more.

I also have a 2026 Model Y, the first one delivered in Florida. It is a much more fully formed and better executed vehicle than the CT. Last weekend I drove it 1,100 miles towing a 3,400-lb 32-ft trailer from South Florida to Virginia. Did an amazing job. I’m not a Tesla fanboi, just a real Tesla owner and advocate who sees reality.

There was no recession when the CT launched. There was inflation but the economy was otherwise doing quite well and any Tesla CT buyer would not have been deterred by macro-economics. They weee deterred by the gap between promises made and actual results. You can have your own opinions but facts are sticky things.

We might not be so different afterall. I used to have two Yamaha Waverunners...forget the models, but they were the best/fastest 3-seaters at the time. I have also had all kinds of other water vehicles/boats over the years. That is amazing that the tiny Model Y towed all that so far (I know not on one charge...but how long does it go on a charge while towing all that?)

You can have your own opinions but facts are sticky things.
Yeah, so here's the thing. My opinion is, after owning and driving my Cyberbeast, is that I view it as the most sophisticated, most refined, consumer vehicle on the roads of planet earth.

The fact that "everyone else hasn't caught on yet," doesn't mean you're conclusion of the following is accurate:

So we have billions wasted on a flyer that did not work. Everyone makes mistakes. This one isn’t fatal but it is a huge let down. You fanbois may deny or obfuscate this, but the Tesla execs clearly see it as a mistake, including Elon. They are scrambling for a backup plan.
It is just a matter of time until others start to recognize it's superiority.

I was not alive when Ford invented and started trying to market the Model T; but I from things I have read over the years, it was also resisted by the masses for a long time because it was such a radical paradigm shift from the usual horses and took time for most people to adapt and accept. The rest, as they say, is history...

The Cybertruck is also a radical paradigm shift, everyone knew that from the onset, and espcially Elon...and initial sales do not predicate future slaes.

I don't understand why my neighbors and friends keep calling me a Tesla fanboy. What does it even mean to be Tesla fanboy? Why not just call me a Tesla Superfan instead!?!

You better get someone to clean that up ASAP because it makes the place seem very unkempt...almost like an abandoned property, and you might get squaters...or at a minimum, neighbors complaining to your HOA...
