Went food shopping in my mall crawler ;) and I am leaving the parking lot. The light is green for me but I know how people drive so I am cautious and sure enough, A woman on her phone runs her red light with out touching the brake. I caught her at the next light and let her know she almost died today. The CT would have flipped that CRV like a tonka toy and judging by her driving skills, she would have no evasive skills to stop it from happening.
Be safe out there.

Woooow! Glad you were paying attention. I'm occasionally guilty of trusting a green light too much.

yes, her light was red for at least 5 seconds as my light was green for 5 seconds and her light turned half a second or so before mine would turn green. It was way too close. It doesn't even look like I slammed the brakes on but it was a very abrupt stop. My GF wondered if it was the truck that hit the brakes and no, it was me. I am wondering if FSD would have caught it. The 90 degree angle makes me think it would not but I have no experience with FSD.

My neighborhood empties onto a street with a 50mph limit, but it’s only the 2nd traffic light from the 85mph toll road. Drivers exiting the highway are often going too fast; when the first light turns yellow they gun it, only to find the 2nd light is yellow too, only now they’re going too fast to stop.

If I’m in the pole position at that light, I count to three after I get the green. All too often, one more car zips through. I’ve almost lost my front bumper more than once.

Hard to know, but my experience with FSD has given me a lot of confidence around dumb drivers, much less confidence around dumb lane markings.

The percentage of idiot drivers and bad lane markers is about 50/50 in New York state

MY street empties out onto a highway where the speed limit is 60mph, no traffic light. I like that FSD stops at the stop sign then proceeds slowly to the actual intersection looks both ways and waits until the highway traffic is clear. Only one time did it proceed when I wouldn't have. I think it would have been OK, Hi-way driver may have had to slow down. So it is good to back it up with your own eyes.

Glad there are still people who follow the old unspoken rule: You can be right, but you can also be dead.

I approach intersections the same way you do. Cautious, look left and right. Proceed. I'm also glad you dodged the bullet (CVR? Haha) and that you don't have to go thru fixing up your pickup.
