referral credit - how does it work

I currently have a 2019 model s that I bought used (never bought a new tesla before)

If buying/leasing a new cybertruck my understanding is that I have 2 options:

1. Referral credit - I would get $1000 and referrer would get $500
2. Loyalty credit - I would get $1000


I'm looking to do the referral credit but have a questions:
1. would it work for me given that I already own a tesla? (if so then I would have my brother refer me)
2. if not then I would refer my wife (used tesla in my name) but that may be a pain as my trade in is under my name and the tesla will be registered in my name.



I spoke with the tesla agent and he said I would have to refer my wife and not use the referral myself but I'm not sure that he has it right

It’s per email. If you want to refer your wife just have her create an account and refer her.

he said she would only qualify if she doesn't have an account, if that isn't the case then would I qualify (that would be easier as my brother could just refer me then and let me use the $500 credit)

No you already have an account. Just have your wife use his referral, create a new account and then once he gets his credits and she gets the discount then go ahead and migrate the car to your account.

In that case could I just refer her and then I get the credit on my account and when she or I lease we also the discount on the cybertruck?
