Samsung are spending more than TSLA in Austin TX - $7B more on a new fab-plant in Taylor TX than Tesla $10B. Taylor is minutes outside Austin.
Industrial Development modifiers for greenfield construction have been 7X multiplied throughout a local economy. In the case of GigaAUSTIN this is going to exceed that 7X multiple. TSLA $10B spend plus all the suppliers locating around TX and Austin will exceed $70B in labor, construction and employment. Including UTAustin university impacts have to be even greater…not to mention the housing and taxation from sales.
While the news clip does not mention Tesla, Samsung provides TSLA cameras for automotive. Action speaks louder than words. Samsung are all-in with Tesla in automotive in the U.S. and Texas is the big winner having landed TSLA in the first place.
