So I opened a service ticket, and the SC rep suggested "this concern has been reviewed and we have found that some features are not available for all Cybertruck VINs at this time..."
goes on to encourage updates as it should evenutually be fixed with a patch

I may not be understanding what you’re asking so please bare with me if you already know this. With sentry mode enabled, you can get to the previews in the Tesla app through the “security and drivers” section. The second option from the top will be to see the preview video. However there is a disclaimer when you click on the preview that if it records and sends you one it’ll be there. I haven’t used the feature yet so I don’t have an answer if it’s not sending the clips at all. Hopefully this helps a little.

Have you received a notification and saw a video recorded? It's been three weeks and I have parked in public and nothing has been recorded.

How do we make sure every time we are driving it’s recording? I see a few videos on mine but very random. Almost got side swiped last night and that one isnt on my recordings.

I found the recordings in the truck. So, the sentry mode works, but the preview on the phone app does not.

No I haven’t but I rarely use it. I’ll turn it on periodically to see the live feed then turn it back off. I don’t like how sensitive it is. If I was in a location that was sketchy I would while I’m away from it.

Still nothing on this, huh?

Regarding sending videos only when the alarm goes off, this is easily simulated. Sit inside the car, have someone walk away with the phone, doors lock, open the door from inside. You get the alarm. Dont ask how I know (phone died while I was sititng inside).

No recordings get sent to the app.

I had this same exact scenario where a month ago when my mother was in the CT and I walked away. Alarm goes off and I got notice and the video does show up under previews. It's the only one I have under there so I assume it has to be alarm only events.

Interesting! I did not get a video in there...

This only appears when a vehicle alarm is triggered. As in, lights and flashing and honking and the classical music on full volume. You’ll also get a phone notification that the vehicle alarm was triggered. Ordinary sentry recordings are not viewable on the Tesla mobile app. Only recordings taken during vehicle alarm activity. The name of this in the app should be updated from “sentry mode recording”, to “alarm triggered sentry recordings”, imo

Nope. Plenty of sentry video recordings but none we pushed to the app.

FWIW, if your sentry mode cams record anything you can get an alert by using the app below, then click it to go to your Tesla app to view the LIVE Camera and see the culprits....

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/sentry-pro-for-your-tesla/id6450215698

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.nlogn.sentrypro&hl=en-US&pli=1

I can confirm it works, but you need to give it Tesla API access.
Is the subscription required to use the app at all or just for the real time notifications? Great idea and worth paying for up front, but I don’t need to know so bad I’d pay a monthly subscription or $40 every year. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah it's a bit expensive, IIRC there is a free demo for a week or so....of course I wish it was "automatic" with the Tesla App.
I rent both my Y and CT on Turo so I like to know WTF is going on around my cars, it works with both on one subscription.

Ok thanks. I completely understand having it if you’re renting your cars out.
