Has anyone found a solution or aftermarket part that is more resilient or has some give so that this does not keep breaking? This is my third break in 3 months.

Curious as to what you are hitting? Could it be puddles at speed? Water has some heft at speed. You and I are doing something different. I haven't broken one yet with just over 17k on the odo.

I broke one… well 2 on the same side. Fiber optics guys digging bottomless holes around my area and not filling them in, ran through one pulling my neighbor home. But, I just snapped it back to normal position and it’s been fine. Even after automated car washing.
They seem to be just cosmetic anyway.

Rigid road "flaps" key word "flap" makes no sense -- they need to be flexible

I have had it replaced twice (so I am on my 3rd). It breaks too easily for a truck mudflap.
