Software related or faulty TPMS?

Yesterday after got a new tire I noticed the other tire in right front jumped to 69 PSI. Then today after lunch time it was back to normal but the right rear was at 71 PSI. I'm using Nitrogen from Costco. So what is the problem?

I stopped by Costco on the way home, parked near air stations and deflated all four down to 20 PSI or so. It took a very long time to do that. Then I moved to the air station to fill them up. With the big industrial compressor at Costco it still needed a long while to fill all of them to 55 PSI. That made me wonder how you guys inflate them with portable air inflators.

It was on the rear right. I asked for balance and rotation (free) 2 weeks ago when they patched it. They are fine on the left side.

Did anything happen when they balance all 4 tires? And how is it related?

The timings are a little weird, but it's possible the system recorded the pressure when they were mounting the tire at >60
Then the reading moved around as the vehicle learned the new tire positions.
They were in the normal range before you aired them down?

The new tire is in a different position to the LEFT front because of rotation and it's fine. The LEFT side front and back are OK. The weird reading was from the Right Front to the Righ Rear.

They were in the normal range before you aired them down?

Normal range but the Right Rear at over 70 lbs before I aired all of them down.

When they seat the tire bead on the rim, they use higher than normal pressure.

So the TMPS was correct that it was overpressure? It may have originally been in the right front position?

The vehicle doesn't instantly update tire positions, so a reading can more from where the tire was to where it is now.

If you have a TMPS issue (fault) you will get this message. It does matter how you rotate the tires,the sofware will pick up the sequencing on rebooting. You can also reboot and they should correct themselves.

I wouldn't have deflated them, I would have just figured the TPMS was learning the new position of each sensor. I would have checked the pressures manually to ensure correct pressure and driven off.

How do we re-fill our tires with a portable compressor? I bought a compressor that was up to the task of re-inflating four tires after deflating them:

With a hose system that connects all four tires together it will fill all 4 of them simultaneously in only 4 minutes (from 30 psi to 50 psi). Thanks to the 120V oulet in the bed!

Let me clarify. I got a right rear flat tire 2 weeks ago. They fixed/patched and balance plus rotation "X" pattern so the bad one is now in left front and have had a slow leak since. Came back and they couldn't fix it again so I got a new tire. On the way home with new tire (left front) I've noticed the right front was at 69 lbs. Yesterday, it got back to normal and the rear right was at 71 lbs. I stopped by Costco nitrogen air station and deflated all 4 around 20 lbs and pumped up back to 55 lbs. All sensors are normal. I haven't use my CT yet because of cold and rain here in Orange County SoCal.

Tire pressure monitoring (TPMS) ; I believe it was over inflated and if your tires are back to normal you are good. I was just trying to point out that unless you throw an alert your TPMS should be ok.

This worked on mine:
To reboot a Cybertruck, you can restart the touchscreen or power cycle the vehicle:

1. Shift the vehicle into Park.
   
   
2. Press and hold both scroll buttons on the steering wheel until the touchscreen goes blank. Then hit the brakes or open door and screen becomes active,

Yeah, I was thinking it was moving due to relearning tire positions, but the rotation was two weeks before the replacement.

I have no idea. But it replaced the bad one that had been at the new position Left Front for 2 weeks and no wrong reading for both Left side since.

They are all back to normal now after almost 2 days. I didn't do anything else except deflate/inflate all four of them 2 days ago. Still no idea what happened to the right side.
