So I just noticed that the rear screen is on all the time. Duh. But i don't normally drive from the back seat. Anyway i happened to brush my hand on the screen while reaching for something and it was hot. Not burn your hand hot, but noticeable. as in, this is wasting power hot. No reason for the screen to be on with no one in the back seats. What is it? 25watts, 50 watts? Anyway, shut off the screen with the 'butts in seats' sensors, until someone is actually in the back seats. I have driven 35,000 miles, and maybe 200 with someone back there.

Lock the rear screen and it won’t do that

Well i will certainly try that, but i still think an automatic switch would be nice. manual will work for me with minimal back seat use, but someone with kids would not want to constantly have to lock, unlock the screen.

I actually find it useful. I use it to allow and disallow screen use depending on behavior.
