Interested in a solar roof mounted trifold panel capable of 3-4KWH also if the truck could self maneuver to maximize solar charge.

This is probably the closest you’ll get commercially for now? 1.2 kW $3k

Little bit of good troop, I'd think something that mounts on the roof ports and was more rigid would be worth exploring. That way one could deploy easily. Thanks for the reply, I feel like there's gotta be some sort of Patent and don't want to reinvent the wheel.

Those are cool but would require a lot of setup to get the 3kwh. Slight maneuvers with the truck wouldn't use hardly any power and could be integrated pretty easily with FSD.
The self manuevering is more of a perk really it wouldn't be too difficult to be conscious of moving it once or twice throughout the day. I would definitely get one of those for a smaller application like deep cycle charging. 3kwh seems like the minimum need for off grid charging with limited daily use.

The Cybertruck gets about 2.5mi per kw. So if you could get 36kwh in a day that's approximately 90 miles of driving, maybe 50-60 4x4.

Would be ideal for camping off grid 4x4 only.

Would also be cool to have something that covers the top and can be folded if needed when the bed is in use.

I've to check whtas the max that can be generated with current tech.

That would be epic, needs to happen. Thanks!

I love the portable solar idea but I feel like assholes will just break it or close the panels. Especially on the cyber truck. I’m so sick of the hate I deal with in this truck. It’s such an asshole magnet.

After reading all the comments here - I was bracing for hate ... but its been mostly positive till now, with strangers stopping by to chat about it. Location makes a big difference.

ps : Is there any solar wrap ... ? !

The best I can find is the flexible solar 130 wh panels. Each panel is about 3.5' x 2'. Four of those will cover the tonneau.

Yeah, I've seen very little hate, and a whole lotta love and curiosity.

There are people trying to slow adoption by actively amplifying the little bit of hate and anger that does exist. But people showing outwardly hate for inanimate vehicles are mostly just very misguided weirdos who have adopted ignorant narratives.

The most concentrated hate I've seen is online, and it seems particularly concentrated on the Rivian Forums, whether it's Reddit or more mainstream forums, the haters have coagulated on Rivian forums. Which makes me think there are a lot of Rivian owners who feel threatened by the Cybertruck. ?‍♂

It is, this would be something needed for long 4x4 trips away from the general asshats. It would mount on the 8 ports on the roof. There's quite a few trails where I live that take more than a few days to navigate.

How many miles are these trails? I've found the Cybertruck can do two 8 hour days averaging 15 mph, even in some pretty steep terrain. But I generally only want to drive 4 or 5 hours a day, max, off-road. I use the Cybertruck to get to the fun, not to sit in the seat and rock crawl all day long.

Mix of Baja mode and rock, it's about 4 days total current setup, my wrangler does it in about 3 days. My biggest problem is by the time I actually start the trip I'm at 75%. Had to use a generator to make it out which took a long time and 5 gallons of fuel. Also needed to spend time rigging an extension cord because the mobile charger needed to sense a ground to work and even at that was getting less than 2kWh.
