I’ll start by saying I like doing truck things.. I transport my motorcycle around with me on trips and haul locally items that require the tailgate down. One of the biggest gripes I have with the CT is that they didn’t accommodate a rear camera for when the tailgate is down.. it’s somewhat painful to supercharge with it down and judge the distance correctly and rear view visualization with the tiny mirror is useless. Do you think this product could be used to tap into the rear camera feed? https://bringittailgates.com/switchback-2/
I’m not sure the rear camera is used for FSD or park assist so maybe this is possible. Thoughts?

Someone on here posted a mirror that is at 90° or 45° and stays permanently next to the camera so that when the tailgate is down, a decent image appears in your rearview. I think that’s the best solution. His was homemade or 3-D printed, but it captured about 80% of the rear field view. If tesla or one of the aftermarket suppliers was to create one I would probably buy it.

That’s why they have a review mirror… would have been cool if they installed a second camera but I do use the review mirror to watch the kids in the backseat.

I open the tonneau and use the rear view mirror for backing when I have a trailer or tailgate down.

Here's the solution @TickTock posted. I bet it could be made even smaller. I have a 3D printer now so I'm going to take a shot at it.

This guy had a fantastic design. I have been meaning to print it and test it out and possibly modify it but had gotten around to it. Thanks for the reminder!

The Switchback looks amazing, can't be too complicated to do that right? Just need a switch between two feeds depending on position of tail gate. Seems totally engineerable and mod-able without harm to the trucks systems, right? One of those stainless covers with a camera housing would be pretty amazing to implement this.... ?
